I've beaten more than 4 Staff Ghosts, but I still don't have Funky. So I'm now wondering how you unlock an Expert Staff Ghost. |

You have to beat the normal staff ghosts by several seconds. It can be pretty short (SNES Ghost Valley 2) or be really far away (Peach Gardens), but it has to be a several-second gap.

On an unrelated note, I found DK Mountain to be the easiest track to finish ever. Seriously, I was MILLISECONDS away from beating the Expert Staff Ghost...when I was trying to unlock him! I even beat Elzilcho's time on that course. o_o |

If you're looking for easy Staff Ghosts to unlock, I suggest the following courses:
Koopa Cape
Mushroom Gorge
GCN Peach Beach
N64 Sherbet Land (if you stick to the left wall during the cave part, you avoid most of the giant penguins)
Moo Moo Meadows |

and I recommend using karts/bike with GREAT speed. Like Bullet Bike/Bowser Bike/Spear/Jester(SP?)/Mach Bike/Dolphin Dasher/Jet Bubble all works great.
And to add more to Mister I's list of easy courses...
DS Peach Garden (near the beginning after the circly garden part, theres a MASSIVE shortcut you can take with a mushroom boost. Its the semi circle part)
DS Delfino Square (the muddy shortcut and the big jump)
Rainbow Road (I find this VERY EASY with Rosalina+Jetster, I can send you the replay, I did really well, even beat Elzilcho's time o.o ) |

Anything not unlocked via GP Mode isn't shown as such until you turn the game off and on again. |
