Have you been so close to getting a star, and you messed up in the home stretch?
Once, in Dreadnaught Galaxy, the Garbage Dump mission, I got the star, and was about to grab it. I thought I would ground pound the robot guy's head, since he annoys me. I did, and I fell off the stage!
TOO BAD!
I had to earn the star again...
And I learned my lesson... |

Heh. I once though I could get 100 purple coins on Honeyhive Galaxy. I got 99 of them, looked at the coin on the other side of the fence, siad "This is too easy," grabbed it and fell...right into the *crag*ing black hole. |

The garbage dump mission in Battlerock Galaxy. I finally did it, after quite a few tries. Then I was very curious and I wondered if you could go under the planet I'm on, you know, gravity.
I tried, I died. And after a few more tries, I FINALLY got it. Then I learned that I had to do the same thing again in Dreadnought :( |

I got to the end of the Loopdeswoop Galaxy and started celebrating. So I decided to see if I could collect any star bits under the champion's platform.
Needless to say, I was pretty mad at myself afterwards. |

In the Cosmic Mario Race in FreezeFlame Galaxy, I've accidentally jumped just a wee bit too far on one of the last few platforms. Death by Quantum Singularity follows shortly thereafter.
Also, I fell into the black hole during Grand Star Rescue (the first one you ever get) during my last play-through.
That's about all that springs to mind at the moment. |

Luigi's purple coins. Beet it on my first try, when to get the star, and WHAM. I fell off because I dropped the Wiimote because my sister paunched me. D: |

Boy, if that's not an instance of exterior interference (i.e., things that happen to you while you're playing), I don't know what is.
Ah! I remembered a few other instances.
I remember doing the Melty Molten Daredevil run, and while I was on the spire as it sank, wouldn't you know it? I had a nice helping of rump roast.
Rolling Gizmo Galaxy has given me grief over and over again. In fact, ALL those stars are stupidly hard. LoopdeSwoop Galaxy was surprisingly fairly easy - I just needed to make sure I didn't fall, and even though I did, it was considerably fewer times. |

Dusty Dune, the star that you had to raise the tower for. I died multiple times in the same place, right after eachother. It was annoyingly stupid for me, since it seemed like there wasn't any sand. |

Ghostly Galaxy, 3rd mission. I just started playing again, yesterday, and I was so used to playing SSBB, that I jumped above a hole, and then rather than trying to spin to get up, I tapped up on the d-stick, and fell to my doom.
