I don't think that would be a good idea...If we were to delete Off Topic all hell would break loose. All the Off Topicers would spread out throughout the other forums and treat it the same way as they did Off Topic most likely having tons of people jailed at a time. Some would end up leaving or become less active. And besides, Off Topic is the most active forum on the whole *crag* site. Getting rid of Digibutter's Off Topic would be like getting rid of 4chan's /b/. |

Or we could remove Off-Topic and loosen the entire site.

Off-Topic goers post elsewhere as well Off-Topic, and when they do, it usually isn't as bad as you make it out to be. If Off-Topic were removed, those who do go crazy and get jailed deserve to get jailed. And, we bring back The Dump issue. It wasn't terrible when The Dump was removed, and since The Dump was far worse than OT, it would be far less of a problem if it was removed.

It's like what I said about The Dump in one of my earlier posts in this thread.

It is a problem that OT is so important, don't you agree? OT is the most active forum, true, but most of the other forums on this site are far less active. There is far more to the site than OT, and people ignore the other great features of the site in favor of OT.
Whenever someone leaves the site, often, they say that it's "boring" or "not very fun." All the action's in OT, and that may be one of the reasons for why people believe that.
As I said with my "dividing OT" idea, getting rid of the forum but making it so that you can discuss most of the things in OT in controlled amounts elsewhere on the site would increase the efficiency of those discussions, and greatly increase the activity throughout the site in general.
Here's how I see the site and OT-
Digibutter's a garden. Each forum is a plant. OT is the plant that gets the most water, leaving the rest of the plants dry. Would you rather have one, strong healthy plant among the many dry, decaying ones, or would you get rid of that single healthy plant and equally spread the water to the rest of the garden, making many less perfect, but equally efficient plants capable of producing a bountiful harvest?
Getting rid of a single, major forum like OT and spreading out its different aspects across the rest of the site like I suggested in one of my previous posts in this thread would greatly increase the efficiency of the site, I think. |

I agree with you one hundred percent, Lord Crump. Also, as you stated, I feel that anything lost from the decision would be something better left lost.

I think all of these ideas are horrible and this entire topic has just *crag* me off. Give me a strike, I don't care, if any of these changes are put into place a lot of members are going to be like this. |

How so? All these ideas wouldn't affect most of the members here, because they are great ideas. If we have OT, more spam will occur in the future. But if we just have more strict rules to OT and added rules, it could decrease the amount of spam. Also, my idea of Light and Serious discussion forum could work without having anyone being sad over the loss of OT. Like I said, Light Discussion could work like OT/GD with more rules and Serious could work like a debate forum, pure seriousness. If members are going to be sad over the loss of OT, it means that they are a spammer and therefore, not a good member. If they don't have a place to spam anymore, great! If they don't have the place to spread drama, EVEN BETTER! Isn't that what we just want? I think I should make a separate topic about my Light/Serious discussion suggestion, I really want this. |

RPOT is much, much, MUCH worse than OT. If OT is going, RPOT should be long gone. |

The pumpkin itself would rot away, leaving only the record; a memory of the glory days, when currently, there is nothing.

Debatable. Some of the plots in RPOT are great. I do believe, though, that the Role-Play forums should be re-worked for greater efficiency. Maybe a "Deep Role-Play" and "Casual Role-Play" board to go along with the "Casual" and "Serious" discussion forum that Small Sammer Guy suggested. |

Yes. Definite yes.
I'm not letting the loss of OT go without turning Role-Playing Off-Topic into Casual Role-Playing and STRICTLY enforcing the rules there. There's probably more unmarked maturity in one month of there then all of OT combined (minus the IUOS).
Actually, that part should be done right now. There's nowhere that said maturity and absolute godmodding/spam/overly Out-of-Characterness should be moved to, it should absolutely be deleted. The name change can wait, but the rules need way more enforcing there. |

*crag*, there is nothing wrong with OT. RPOT does need to be...Deleted, since all the good topics could easily be implemented into RP. |

Well, again, there's the example of other fan sites, such as Zelda Universe, that don't have forums like OT. ZU manages to do a decent job at limiting spam, and their population is much, much larger than this site's; in theory, a smaller community should be able to manage spam as well, and be more efficient at spam management, too. |
