**it's time i subject you all to my overly long spiel about how Epic Battle Fantasy is the greatest game ever created** very simply put, EBF is a series of mainly RPGs that are sorta like a fusion between final fantasy and pokemon: cool swords and magic, finding loot, upgrading your party, elemental attacks, strengths, and weaknesses, and even catching and subsequently summoning foes for your own use (in the most recent installment, anyway); what makes it truly unique though is its sense of humor: the games are all amazing at parodying and poking fun at other video games, as well as retaining that 2000's, newgrounds-type humor, which is the kind of thing thats right up digi's alley; besides, on top of that, the games have great music and are all **REALLY FUN** **let me inform you from the getgo:** i'm sure nobody wants to just drop cash on these games outright, so i have good news; as these are flash games, you can find free to play versions of all of these on matt roszak's (the developer, he's a cool dude) newgrounds page (WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO), though the steam releases have significant amounts of bonus content and features (such as extra dungeons and superbosses), so you'll miss out on that until you decide to buy the games the game i'd recommend you start with is Epic Battle Fantasy 5, the newest game in the series; this one is definitely the best by far, packing hours of content, over 100 differnet skills, 200+ unique monsters, a lot of equipment, and a bunch of extra side challenges if you're playing the deluxe version; i've gotten so many hours out of this one, and it's definitely the most accessible, even having mobile ports for both iOS and android; if i've somehow convinced you to check the series out, go ahead and start with this one https://store.steampowered.com/app/432350/Epic_Battle_Fantasy_5/ https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/746618 i'll briefly mention EBF3 and 4 here real quick, just to acknowledge them: they're both great games as well, and are good to play if you enjoyed 5; EBF3 is free on steam (though without any real extra content), and a lot of what applies to 5 also goes for 4, so they're both pretty cool https://store.steampowered.com/app/521200/Epic_Battle_Fantasy_3 https://store.steampowered.com/app/265610/Epic_Battle_Fantasy_4 https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/612815 for those of you around here who are into bullet hell games, let me recommend to you Bullet Heaven 2, one of the series' spinoffs; an amazingly fun yet painfully difficult bullet hell game (if you choose heavenly difficulty, like i do), with 70 unique stages, 8 different characters, 19 bosses, and a bunch of cheats/handicaps to completely alter the game's difficulty; it's a ton of fun, but i still have to git gud enuf to beat the final boss, so make fun of me for that https://store.steampowered.com/app/412670/Bullet_Heaven_2 https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/666077 there's also EBF Collection, a compilation of updated flash games, art, prototypes, music, and also a bunch of fun stuff hidden in the game's directory; it's a pretty solid timewaster, and the highest quality flash collection i've seen on steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/1469620/Epic_Battle_Fantasy_Collection last thing worth mentioning is Hidden Cats & Dogs, a casual i spy/where's waldo type game with interactive environments and puzzles; it's currently in development, and not slated to release until next year, but a demo is supposed to be coming in a few months, and it does look pretty cool, so wishlist it and check it out when the demo arrives https://store.steampowered.com/app/2624670/Hidden_Cats__Dogs/ if any of what i just described sounds good to you, then **PLEASE** go try out the games or something; like i said, matt's newgrounds page has free to play versions of most of the games i mentioned above, which is wonderful since, as i said, i presume none of you want to drop $25 to try out the funny RPG game ambient yelled about for about 4700 characters; these games are great and the developer's a really cool guy, so i think it deserves a shot if you got the time thanks for reading my long, stupid post, and sorry i had to use more grammar than usual (i wanted this to be at least somewhat cohesive, without looking like a discord message thread) links: matt roszak's steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/developer/mattroszak matt's newgrounds: https://matt-likes-swords.newgrounds.com/ matt's personal website (he posts updates and whatnot here): https://kupogames.com/ game links are all listed under their respective sections, if you failed to notice

quf: Holy high-effort post! Sounds epic, unique, and fun as described. I never knew that EBF's made by the same guy who made Bullet Heaven. I'll have to add it to the backlog... Hopefully I'll get to it before my midlife crisis.

Fire post shouldve been 40k characters as planned

i will check it out .
