Niantic Announces “Large Geospatial Model” Trained on Pokémon Go Player Data

Niantic Labs announces that they, along with support from the CIA, have been quietly building a Large Geospatial Model from Pokémon go player data (pictures, locations, distances, etc.). Some claim their collected data is already marginally better than what Google has. This could be cool for the future of AR navigation.

Interesting. Makes sense, Niantic is part of Google, and Google really wants to catch up with other AI initiatives… speaking of that, that technically means Pokémon Go is a game made by Google. That feels weird to say, lol.
