Is the 3DS price drop actually going to work? Early info from The Mainichi Newspaper seem to indicate that things are going well. Preorders for the new lower-priced 3DS at Bic Camera spiked. A rep from the store said, "It's going better than we thought. There's definitely been a response."

This goes hand-in-hand with a spike in used sales, which we discussed last week. Retailer Book Off dropped the price for used 3DS and saw sales increase four times. Looks like those free games are quite a motivator.
