Coming from a CVG interview with speed-runner, Cosmo

"Understanding a game is from a speedrunning perspective is not obvious, it takes a while. I actually put about 150 hours into Banjo-Kazooie and then I thought 'this game is really good, but I'm not sure it's my style of game'. I wish I could tell you how many hours I've spent playing Ocarina, I really have no idea. Any number I give would be a complete wild guess. It's a lot."

Isn't the time even lower now? I'm pretty sure it's been under 20 minutes for a while. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm not sure.

This game is so damn glitchy. You'd think the team would communicate with each other or something but this game works like it's made out of a bunch of random functions written by a bunch of 16 year olds and they were all called in the main loop. Shit even Super Mario 64 isn't this glitchy and that's a full platformer. At least Nintendo realized they're a bunch of incompetent idiots and hired Rare to make the rest of their games for the N64. Rare's games have hardly any glitches.

keep in mind this was the first real game of its kind. Also give people enough time and they will find every exploit possible. Take super metroid, a beautifully made game, but you can sequence break everything right off the *crag*ing bat.

HAHAHAHA FORTRAN ARE YOU KIDDING ME

DK 64 is one of the top 5 glitchiest games

Also the WR for OoT any% is something like 19:27 or something.

19:20 by nedeahs (aka pydoyks). Also yeah fortan you're retarded DK 64 and Diddy Kong Racing are both very easily like two of the  most *crag*ed up games ever in terms of coding. And I honestly wouldn't hold Nintendo at fault at all for the ridiculous shit in the game, I mean none of it was very easy to find at all, and none of it is actually game breaking in that you'd encounter any of these glitches unless you're very deliberatley *crag*ing with the game. Also like dim said first of its kind game too.

I know DK64 is pretty broken but I'd expect you guys to know they made like 4 other fairly good games. I'm depressed how much the brain responds to negativity.
I guess I was the only one that had the other Rare games.

I also said Diddy Kong Racing, which is broken as *crag*. And I'm pretty sure Banjo Kazooie has its fair share of glitches, tho not like nearly as much obviously. IDK about Conker

Reply by weedlord bonerhitler Aug 01 2013 23:02 GMT
yeah so I was the only one that played the games that didn't have endless-damage weapons and walls you could walk through.

Kazooie and Tooie took awhile to break but they've got some kick and ball and through the wall type of stuff now too
