The ever increasing cavalcade of secondary characters in Sonic the Hedgehog is an often reviled issue. So, how do you keep Sonic interesting without adding another Big the Cat? Easy, in Sonic Colors, the blue blur actually transforms into other characters using Wisps. Pretty sneaky, Sega.
The official website for Sonic Colors is now up and running. There are a bunch of fun things to check out, but it doesn’t look like there’s much in the way of new footage. At least you can hunt around and grab yourself some new wallpapers after a hunt for hidden wisps. [...]
Here’s a few snippets from the NGamer review of Sonic Colors…

With Sonic Colors coming later this year and actually looking pretty damn good, Sega's top men say they want to get Sonic the Hedgehog's recent misfires off store shelves, part of an effort to "increase the value of the brand." More »

We are getting awfully close to the release of Sonic Colors. When will the other shoe drop? When will we discover this is another secretly-displeasing Sonic game? Not today. Not when I saw the game's multiplayer mode. More »
If listings on Amazon.de and EB Games Australia are to be believed, both Europe and the Land Down Under will be receiving a limited edition of Sonic Colors. The limited edition comes in both Wii and DS flavors and includes a (kind of awkward looking) Sonic figure and three wisp figurines. Each version comes with different wisps, so you'll have to snag both the DS and Wii editions if you just have to have them all.
We've contacted Sega to find out if the limited edition will see a release in North America as well.

It's not amusing to me. I used to be a large Sonic fan, and used to buy every single platformer for the consoles since Sonic Adventure. I am probably one of the very few people who actually liked all of them since then. However, Sonic Unleashed led me to the point where I became pissed at loading times and it felt like the loading was more than the actual game. I never played Unleashed again since that day. The concept of colors doesn't really seem amsuing and I would have rather seen a different concept for the game.
• Contrary to the E3 build some of you may have played getting S-ranks are TOUGH. You’ll need to maximise your grabbing of bonuses whilst still maintaining your speed and maximising your ring count in order to gain them.

A portion of a UGDB interview with Keith Dwyer from Sega America…
UGDB: During E3 it was revealed that MadWorld and Happy Tree Friends writers, Ken Pontac and Warren Graff are writing the script for Sonic Colors, what have these two writers brought to the game that you haven’t seen before? Were there any ideas that [...]
‘(With Sonic Colors, we hope to) introduce Sonic to a whole new audience, building on the success and publicity garnered by the Mario and Sonic titles. Hopefully, with the emphasis set on speed and core platforming, along with the new Wisp elements, it will be a game for old fans and newcomers alike.’ - Takashi [...]
Once again, this comes directly from SEGA Europe’s blog…
• Cubot’s voice processor is broken – and stuck on “cowboy mode”.
• If you run out of Wisp power when underground in Drill mode you WILL die.
• FOXY FACT: Tails isn’t as keen on high speeds as you might think…
• Pits of death DO exist, [...]

Carnival attraction of “Egg Planet Park” that looks like a space fleet that has been colored with neons and fireworks. Various space battleships, such as battleships with a constellation motif, meet Sonic in a parade of lights and sounds. Enjoy the feeling of a roller coaster that weaves its way among the parade.
