Are you a dog person? How about a cat person? No, we know what you are -- you're a mischievous pegasus who shoots lasers out of its horn person. You may not know it yet, but your soul can't lie to us. Just watch this video of Whirlwind from Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure and you'll feel those heartstrings tuggin'.

If you're still not convinced that, deep down, you're a pretty unicorn with wings, check out the remaining four character vignettes for Skylanders and maybe you'll find your spirit animal. If not, let's just assume it's a sea cucumber.

A portion of a Gaming Nexus review...

Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure looks to not only be a pioneer in merging physical toys with a video game, but also take the Spyro franchise to a younger audience. After a two-day marathon across four platforms, I think that Activision, Toys for Bob and XPEC have succeeded. While the game has a few flaws and I have some concerns with lost or broken toys and portals, I believe the game (with the help of an aggressive marketing campaign) will make this one of the hottest game/toy combinations this Holiday Season.

Toy Story was a critical and commercial success when it was released in 1995. While its computer-generated graphics brought people to theaters, the heart behind its script is what ultimately won them over. Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen, two of the writers behind the film, received an Oscar nomination...

Maiq the Liar

The Spyro series stopped after the third game. Why do people insist there are more?

I swear, sometimes it feels like the whole internet is trying to troll me.

#skylanders While a set of Angry Birds plushies made it onto this year's Hot Toy list, the only proper video game to make the cut is an Activision game that has Toys"R"Us as a marketing partner. More »

Activision sent new screens highlighting some of the (highly collectible!) characters of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. Above: "Voodood," who looks kind of like a metal Cubone.

Since the company sent screens of the Xbox 360, Wii, and 3DS versions, this is also a nice chance to see them next to each other, and figure out which world you want to zap your Spyro toys into.

How did the tangible toy components of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure come to be in our world? We were pretty sure they were manufactured in a factory, or perhaps even a lab. According to the trailer above, however, they were teleported here to rot in an inescapable, earthen prison. Fun!

#watchthis Here is how you take a three-inch high plastic figurine and pull him into your 3DS, without wires, memory cards, or the device's camera. Just set your character from Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure on that portal, and aim the 3DS at him, and wait for the beam of light. When I did it, I swear I felt the slightest tug when I lined it up correctly. More »
