I come here today to announce that I am running for Digibutter president.
You may wonder how I can hope to surpass all who have made themselves known before me, they who have promised you many things, they who have won you over with features you have long awaited. But I ask you, how many have offered you your own choice in the future of this site?
I am not one of the oldest members on this board. Nor am I the most experienced. My post count speaks for itself, and I do not know some of you as much as I would like. I do, however, have one key skill.
I can listen.
My only promise is this. If I am elected president, I shall listen to your concerns. I shall hear your requests, and shall act upon them to the best of my ability. I will strive to achieve Francis' true intention for this election - a voice for the people. I offer no suggestions of my own, but if you desire something you may simply speak to me and I will attempt to make it a reality.
No matter how strange or absurd an idea, I shall listen. Whether for good or bad, I shall listen. No matter if a member is a veteran from the first days of Digibutter, or a new member who has only been here a week, I shall listen.
I shall listen.

It seems that I am a relative unknown in this election. Today and tomorrow, I intend to fix that.
I started out in this election offering nothing more than a way to speak to Francis through me. Over the past few weeks, I have realised that my proposal would be nothing more than a living feedback forum. Likewise, a presidents ideas are nothing if they are not supported by the people. I would like to address a couple of the key concerns of the members in this post.
The Court
I'm sure you all agree that the court system strips mods of most of their powers - these days they simply serve to prevent mass reporting and necro-reporting. However, I do not believe that the court is a complete waste - it simply needs some tweaking. For starters, mods need to be able to pass judgement on court cases. Francis simply isn't online enough to handle them all himself. Secondly, coin fines need to be removed. Coins hold no real value these days, and people will not care if they are taken from them. The rules created by Cid (Displayed in the introductions board) offer a very good punishment system based on the type of offence which was commited. Thirdly, punishments need to be greater if a court case is judged guilty than if the offender had plead guilty at the beginning. Some members just use the court to delay punishments, making them less effective in deterring wrongdoers. I intend to correct this.
The Economy
While one could argue that the economy is not a vital part of this site, I have to disagree. Coins and items are one of the many things that made this site unique, and they have been sadly neglected. In order to fix this, we have to look at the main use of items - battling. Members almost never fight one another anymore. The first thing I would do to help this would be to attempt to get Francis to dedicate more of his coding time to finishing the new battle system that he has reputedly been working on. To continue this, I would organise regular battle tournaments, perhaps with wii points prizes.
