It's more than the standard beat 'em up, for one.
And while it has alot of generic stuff, said stuff actually makes sense.
There are challenges and unlocks every five seconds because the Riddler is loose.
There are platforming segments because Scarecrow drugs you.
There are stealth segments because there are rooms where all the enemies have guns and would kill you in seconds if you went in batarangs blazing.
The upgrades don't magically make Batman stronger or faster, and instead improve his equipment.
The bosses are seven times larger than you because of a varient of Bane's steroids are a plot point.
The PS3 version lets you play as Joker. And he isn't just a Batman clone.
And there are only afew actual quick time events, and even still only about one such event is necessary because if you don't Killer Croc tears your ass apart. |

Batman is good in the way Bioshock is good.
The game play is decent, but in the end it is irrelvant.
Think of it as an interactive sequel to Dark Knight.
Except they replaced dead Joker with Mark Hamill.
They should actually do that btw. |
