Here's a fun fact. Francine got enough strikes for two jail sentences since she came back. That's 6 strikes. Count 'em, six.

Now, what does this tell us? She was breaking the rules an awful lot. And why was she? Because she knew if she got striked, it was a mere sum of coins and that strike was completely revoked. Because the strikes are 10 coins apiece.

I suggest, nay, I implore that you, Francis, completely remove jail fines in favor of actually disciplining people. Taking away some coins is not discipline, it's an excuse for people to break the rules.

If you really need to keep the system, you need to make the fine much stricter. 100 coins, 200 coins, maybe even 500 coins. But not 10. Because a 10 coin fine isn't going to stop anyone.

By fining people such a meager amount, you are negating the reason we have strikes.

Supported.

Or make the fine 10%-20% of the user's coins if they don't want jail time.

Make coins actually useful if you're going to use that as the only unavoidable punishment.

Supported, and with a suggestion:

1st strike: 25% of total coins
2nd strike: 50% of total coins
3rd+ strike: All coins, plus an increasing abount of "debt". (Maybe this should be the 1st one?)

EDIT: Oh, and make the coins more useful.

That's a bit much. 10% is better, with a 100-coin minimum to prevent people with like 10 coins from abusing it. And possibly a maximum, too. I mean really, strikes are given out for really minor stuff, it doesn't make sense that I'd lose over 8,000 coins for just 2 strikes.

If you're rich, you can just put some money in the bank, and pay only very minimal amounts.

On another note, if we keep it the way it is, you can put some in the bank so you have none, and wait until you're about to go to sleep/school, you can say you're guilty that very moment, and take jail time.... for three hours, to have no affect on it.

It should look for your bank cashplx as well as your current cashplx.

Fixed.
I always just assumed it would jail you on the third strike anyway and the coin loss was just smacked on there as a deterrent, especially for new members. But if EVERY strike amounts to just a 10 coin fine, then I could go on a spampage (lol get it? GET IT?!) and not have to worry about being punished for it. Now just think about what Ultimario could do.

Not supported. Not like it matters since everyone would disagree with me anyways if I tried to defend it so in all seriousness maybe you can make it so if someone gets to many strikes in a day that one of the mods can have permission to jail you or something among those lines.

I agree on how fines need to be straightened up. However, having a large amount of coins does not justify how the richer get a worse fine. I think the minimum for strikes should be at least 25 coins, and possibly allowing mods and/or Francis to adjust the coin amount for various levels of crime, up to a maximum of 100 coins. Also, like I thought the system previously worked before, the third strike should, regardless of payment of fine or not, jails the member. However, paying the fine would take away the extra jail time which one would get from a single strike.

I say we just get rid of it all together. I understand why Francis sees it as such a good system, it works in real life because not everyone is filthy rich, but on a forum like this with fake money, it's way too easy to get rich. Unless Francis finds a way to make it harder for people to get rich, then I say we just get rid of this whole fine system.

I say he gets rid of the court, but keeps the Meow Mod so people won't bawl about any of the mods being biased. o.o;
