I propose the following changes. Fines: Change the fine to 10% or 20 coins, whichever is more. This way, people like Ultimario will actually be hurt by the fine, and people with like 30 coins wont lose small amounts of money. Pleading Guilty: They should recieve both the strike and the fine, so that people can actually get jailed. Pleading Not Guilty: If they are found guilty, then they recieve the strike, and a slightly higher fine, for wasting valuable time. ಠﮯ๏ |

It shouldn't be 10%. I shouldn't lose 2000 coins while somebody else pays only 20. I agree with increasing amounts for richer people, but that's just excessive. |

We could put a cap on it, like you can't lose more than 1000 coins from it. And I got striked once because I wasn't thinking and only posted "wat" in an topic in Off-Topic. But other than that, yeah. |

I agree. But the fines should A, not have a cap B. Be increasing
First offense is a lesser percent than the second or third lets say %5 first offense than 10% next 20% third.
NO BREAKS FOR BEING RICH! as that's unfair.

The issue is that rich people are getting punished way more. 20 coins is a lot less than 2000, it's freaking hard to make 2000 coins, making 20 is a breeze. Poorer users can recover easily, rich users it could take months or even years to recover from that. |

And anyway, you could probably put it all into gold bars and whatnot. |

Poorer users could just post 20 times and bam, back to normal. Rich users....not like that at all. Plus, Gold Bar abuse is a big issue here, thanks for mentioning that. Somebody could lose hardly any coins from buying lotsa Gold Bars and selling them later. |

You do realize that poor users who cant pay the fine would be instajailled right ( or atleast thats what I assume will be carried over) you will have the freedom of never being insta-jailed out of lack of the flat fine.
what are you going to feel more? a 200 or a 2000 coin hit? Staying rich is just an Incentive to follow the rules.
20 coins can be a big chunk of a Rpot or OT natives Cash Giving you a break because you have more, because you earned more isn't exactly fair.
thats like saying Billionaires should pay less of a fine. because the amount is sooooo much. |

So Ulti, you find it unfair that Millionaires get taxed more than the Middle Class? ಠﮯ๏ |

...Have price be 10 +1%(accepted offense) and 15+1.5%(fought for in court) coins for minor offense and +.5 strike(excessive spam of minor offenses can result in a major offense
15+1.5%(accepted offense) and 25+2.5%(fought for in court) coins for an average offense and +1.5 strikes
40+4%(accepted offense) and 60+6%(fought for in court) coins for a major offense and +4 strikes
Site Wide offenses result in Temp Ban( or permanent Banning), decided on by the case, and +50 strikes
Jailing is 2 hours per strike, jailing time is accepted immediately after court case closes... ~White Shy Guy

Write a script to check if a Gold Bar exists in the inventory. The script would take the number of Gold Bars needed to cover the fine, plus coins if there isn't enough there. Gold Bars would be included in a member's coin-count as well, effecting the fine.
After all, Gold Bars are just currency in item-form. |

I agree that richer users should be taxed/fined more than poorer users, but 100x more is ridiculous. And since the Digieconomy is one that works with little income, it could take months, even years, to recover such high fines as thousands. But it only takes a short amount of time to recover a fine of 20. Richer users should be fined more, but not such an excessive amount. 5% is a far better idea, keep in mind that even that's -1000 coins for me for one measly little spam post or debateable flamebait. |
