The results are in, and the 2008 Digibutter.Nerr's Best Games All Year (DNBGAY?) have been decided!. This year we had twice as many categories to vote on as we did last year. In fact, last year we didn't even vote at all for PS3 because only like two people had one... my how things have changed.
Wii - Super Smash Bros. Brawl [forum]
The third entry of Nintendo's crazy 4-player fighting game. It features epic cutscenes & music, huge diverse roster, stage creation, and basic online play.
Runner Ups: Mario Kart Wii & No More Heroes
WiiWare - Mega Man 9 [group]
The first Mega Man game since 1996, and arguably the best since Mega Man 2. Old-school platforming graphics and gameplay.
Runner ups: Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People & World of Goo
Wii VC - Super Mario RPG (SNES) [group]
Almost 100% of the vote, the Great-Grandfather of Super Paper Mario.
Runner ups: Mega Man 2 (NES)
Nintendo DS - Kirby Super Star Ultra
A remake of the SNES platformer & mini-game collection with a few visual and gameplay enhancements and several new games.
Runner ups: The World Ends With You & Final Fantasy IV DS
Xbox 360 - Banjo Kazooie : Nuts & Bolts
The popular platforming duo is back with a focus on vehicles. Features huge detailed environments, user-created vehicles, and a multiplayer mode.
Runner ups: Left 4 Dead (lost by 1 vote!) & Fable II
XBLA - Castle Crashers [group]
A 4-player co-op side-scrolling beat-em-up game with some RPG elements.
Runner ups: Mega Man 9 & Braid
PS3 - LittleBigPlanet [group]
The physics-based multiplayer platformer featuring deep customization features and expansive user-created levels and content.
Runner up: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Sorry to sound picky, but PS Store's top nomination is just bull, mainly because MegaMan 9 wins Game of the Year TWICE if you count it in that category. |

Brawl sucked, SMRPG was just a generic RPG, and MGS4 is closer to perfection than LBP.
