Seven are coming, to be exact. I haven't read in-depth yet, but it looks like it's going to be a good RPG year for Nintendo.

Sorry, that's not there.
DS is getting 5 exclusively, 1 shared with Wii, and Wii has its own.
The list is as follows:
Phantasy Star 0 (There's a slash through the 0, can't find the character)
Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume 3/09
Sands of Destruction Summer
Dragon Quest V 2/09
Arc Rise Fantasia (Wii exclusive) Spring
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon 1st Half 09
and finally, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time (Wii & DS) 3/09

EDIT: Added some listed dates. Phantasy Star's not on the forecast yet.

Hells yeah!

I'm mostly looking forward to Valkyrie Profile:CotP, though.

This may be weird, but the ones I really want are the non-Square games. Yeah, no Dragon Quest V for me, as any DQ I play ends up as a huuuuuuuuuuuuge grindfest ;;
And I'm not a big fan of FFCC, so there's that.

PS0, and FFCC = feck yes.

The DS version of FF will probably be more worth it than the Wii version, IMO.

They told us about it like a year ago. It's already out in Japan and Europe, actually. ФֻФ

Okay, I had time to read 2 and a half articles. Those being on PH and Valkyrie.
ON PH: Virtually no plot info was revealed, just the start of the Cast plot, and less of Human.
On other stuff, it was mostly what's in the game and races and multiplayer stuff. There are two new weapons, apparently: Shields and Gunlashes. Shields block damage for Photon points while Gunlashes are ranged weapon/sword combination things. Sounds awesome. Apparently, there's going to be a lot of weaponry added too. A lot of negative stuff from the original PHO will be taken out, and a lot of improvements made. Be on the lookout for more info.
Valkyrie: A lot more plot stuff here, since there's less multiplayer. Here's the plot: Your character is a 16 year old kid named Wylfred who had his father taken away to Valhalla by the Valkyrie because he died in battle. You think it's Mrs. Valkyrie's fault he died though. So, filled with rage, you set out to kill her. From what I understand though, things go awry and you die. Joy. HOWEVER, you make a pact with Hel, goddess of Norse Hell, and you get to be back to life. Yaaaaaaay. But Hel wants blood. But not ordinary blood. She wants the blood of your closest friends. Aww, shame, huh? So, while on your quest, you make new allies, and sometimes become close friends. Hel just sees these as expendables.
For battles in this game, they're similar to turn based, but you choose when to attack, since everyone has a button assignment. NP's example is a monster only vulnerable to fire, use a spellcaster to break that defense then charge forth with physicals and destroy it. Apparently, you can also supercharge someone, but at the cost of their life at the end of the battle. How nice. This one moves kind of low because of this, since I'm the person who doesn't like members to die, but still seems interesting nonetheless.
Since I'm in the middle of Sands of Destruction, I won't reveal anything there yet. Just be patient.

I finished the Sands of Destruction article. However, I closed the tab on accident and lost my post. NOOOOOOO
I'll try to recount though.
The setting is a planet in which the human race is enslaved by a race of beastmen by the name of Ferals. Fed up with it, a 16 year old girl named Morte formed a group called the World Annihilation Front to strike back. Her goal is to end the world, because she blames the world for the Humans' enslavement. However, the protagonist is not her, but Kyrie.
Kyrie is just a 16 year old kid working for his uncle's pub. The game opens with his uncle sending him to get some mushrooms. Upon completing this dire mission, you are invited to the mayor's mansion, only to be arrested. You can try running, but alas, are caught. Until the soldiers and the mansion start meling, literally. Kyrie naturally has no idea what's going on, but he's thrown into jail to await death until he is saved by Morte, who wants to use his power to end the world. That's it for story.
Battles seem cool. You don't use the touch screen, buttons only. X and Y are attacks, A is specials, and B is items. There are two types of attack: rush and blow. Rushes are fast, weak, multi-hits, while blows are heavy damaging, but inaccurate, strikes. You also get these little orbs that, when obtained, allow you to string together more attacks. You also can use them for crazy specials, like Kyrie's poisonous mushroom salad. Finally, you can team up and release a devastating attack, like in Chrono Trigger.
That's really all I know for now, but SoD is one of my favorites on the list.
