Do you think it's right? Do you think teens should be involved with politics, and I mean 13-15 year olds. Or younger.

I, myself, believe I am a Republican. I have most republican beliefs, and I'm 13. My dad is happy for me.

But when my 6 year brother came home with a drawing of the president, he raged. "They shouldn't bring politics into schools."

What do you think?

I asked him that the same day. He got pissed at me and told me otherwise, but I'm sure it's cause my kindergardner brother drew the president.

An early start in politics is always good. Just make sure you're serious about it. :B

I don't know if they should be "involved" but its okay for them to talk about it and learn about it and "develop", so to speak, their political identity before its time for them to vote. Chances are a younger kid's political beliefs will change a little bit as they learn more about the government and economics and things like that.

Younger kids tend to sway mostly towards the republican side because of religous beliefs

Seriously ? I'm 16 and allowed to vote in town things here in Germany, and most teens have no clue about politics and just have no experience with politics, stances, and detecting massive quantities of bullshit.

No. If politics was PG-13, the congress would become IRL /b/.

You do know that even IF teens were involved in politics, it would mostly be the more serious ones and the ones who would actually KNOW what they were doing.

Also:

/b/ =/= All teens

Actually, the older you are the more likely you are to vote Republican, statistically speaking.

Age isn't the smartest thing to use as a referential to pick who gets to vote. Really.

But the one main thing I believe that needs to change about the voting system is obligatority. In my country, Anyone between 18 and I think it was 80 is obligated to vote. IMO, it's pretty pointless to MAKE people vote like that. They should just leave it to those who are sure enough of their opinion to know who to vote on. And it also potentially decreases the good old "My vote makes no difference" thought, because in this system, it indeed makes no difference, but if voting isn't obligatory, then people who do vote will probably know their votes will matter.

They should not bring politics into school. At this game, the child's mind is still developing. Bringing political opinions into schools is like what Hitler did with the "Hitler Youth" programs. The children will develop biased opinions, and will not be able to vote for themselves.

On a related not, my dad says some pretty inspiring things. Him, my mom, and I are serious about politics.

Also, "If you are young and not a Democrat, you have no heart. If you're old and not a Republican, you have no brain."

Today, according to the cancer that is killing /b/, most are teens.

Pull the other one, it has got bells on.

Although... Maybe it would just be the serious ones. I wish.

Zelnor, Mantis meant that not all teens use /b/,
YOU thought that he meant that /b/ is made up mostly of teens.
Clarification complete. Right? Or am I wrong in my assessment?
