Now that Nintendo has a much better medium for Virtual Console (better than Apple, anyway) to expand upon, we can imagine some great possibilities from the other companies on this one.

Bandai Namco Games:
Pac-Man Plus
Rally-X
Pac-Mania
Bosconian
Legend of Valkyrie (Valkyrie no Densetsu)

Capcom:
Vulgus
Sector Z
Tiger Road
Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando
Street Fighter (the VERY First One)
Legendary Wings
Bionic Commando (Yes, there was an Arcade Version.)
And if it's even possible...
Super Street Fighter II Turbo
DarkStalkers
Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix (on Handhelds, it's Pocket Fighter)

Tecmo:
Rainbow Islands
Bubble Symphony
And other games

Nintendo:
Donkey Kong (The Original, with FOUR Levels, instead of 3)
Donkey Kong Jr.
Vs. Super Mario Bros, and any other Vs. System games

Sega:
Wonder Boy
Wonder Boy in Monster Land
Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair
Outrun (with Wii Wheel Support)
Virtua Fighter
Altered Beast (The Arcade Version)

Of course, there's more on the horizon, but what would you want for Virtual Console Arcade?

Nothing. I could get most of those games off the Homebrew channel.

Besides, the Wii won't let me get into the Wii Shop Channel unless I update my Wii... and if I do that no more Homebrew channel. Sad

So I'll just wait til' they release an update for the Homebrew channel so I can bypass the update.

But, you gotta figure out how to play as any ONE of the characters, without having to buy additional controllers.

I almost forgot about mentioning Racing games like Pole Position. That one should have Wii Wheel Support, to emulate the Arcade Experience! I can kind of figure this:

Steering = Left and Right Tilting
Accelerate = 2 Button
Brake = 1 Button
Gear Shifting = A Button or Up and Down on D-Pad.

Since I have an X-Rocker Gaming Chair (with the Speakers built in), it can add to the arcade experience, with games like OutRun!

Plus, Licencing is an issue, since EA Games holds the licence for The Simpsons. Maybe in a future Wii Simpsons game, we'll see a Port of the Simpsons Arcade Game.

"Virtual Console" is nothing more than a fancy term for emulation. You might as well just get the homebrew channel. Really. I could probably emulate most of these either on my computer, a PSP, or even an iPod Touch, provided it's jailbreaked, and has the right apps. This idea is kind of a waste, since Nintendo should just have let you import games and stuff. And besides, if you're a pirate , not that I'm encouraging in any sense - just pointing out what a pirate would do - , I'd actually just use the Homebrew channel for this.

Oh, sure, that's a wonderful idea. Convert millions of Wii Owners to Piracy, just so they can screw Nintendo of America out of millions of dollars! They'll be so bankrupt that they'll end up going third party, and we'll see a More Life-like version of Twilight Princess on XBox 360.

CAN'T YOU TELL STEWIE-ESQUE SARCASM WHEN YOU READ IT?!

It's already on VC, under NeoGeo. But if you want a more affordable version, get the Metal Slug Anthology.

That's not very sarcasm-filled. Really.

Anyways, that's what a lot of people would do. You'd be surprised how large the pirating community actually is. And they develop stuff really fast, too. Sony's pretty much lost on the PSP, and you can expect no less on the Wii from those guys that make these programs.

And besides, Nintendo's just pretty much re-selling their stuff. Really now, I'm not gonna bother buying it if I have an arcade I can go to, or a lot of old-gen games. Instead, if I just wanted the experience of playing it with a Wii, I'd use Homebrew.

And besides, they won't go bankrupt. They'll still make money out of the majority, which aren't old gamers, and most of which don't know how to homebrew.

laharl, i'd say everyone here knows it's extremely, extremely easy and free to just emulate vc games, but the reason we buy them anyway is

A) the coolness of actually getting to play classic games on your tv for the first time in however many years without having to worry about breaking out old consoles or hoping they work etc etc, also with classic controller feeling like an snes controller and sideways wiimote like an nes one and all that (though it IS possible with emulation, it's much easier this way)

B) -- and most importantly -- we want to SUPPORT the games, show that we love what we love, i.e. maybe if they ever release earthbound and enough people buy it there might be a .00000001% chance of mother 3 ever coming to the u.s., or if enough people buy, say, secret of mana or something, maybe square'd consider an snes-style sequel OR seiken densetsu 3 in english on VC, etc etc

anyway, for me...

MOTHER
EARTHBOUND
smw2: yoshi's island
kirby superstar (i know it was just re-released on ds with way more stuff but everyone always asks if it's on vc yet because it's so awesome 2-player)
mega man 7
mega man x
super punch-out (actually this may already be out but i'm too lazy to look)
ssb64 (i just like it okay)
and though it'll never ever ever happen since rare's already doing it on xbl arcade, banjo kazooie/tooie and jet force gemini

there's a bunch more but those are some of my mains

also as far as arcade the simpsons game, cadllacs & dinosaurs, that godly old x-men beat-em-up, turtles in time, etc would be wayyyyy tight

The Arcade version?

And I guess I should've been more specific. I want the whole series.
