So, this exploration game has been in development for several weeks now, and I have to thank everyone who downloaded, and the few who bothered to actually give feedback for trying my game. This new update has taken me quite a while, and I certainly hope it's well received. Additionally, I genuinely hope someone will actually decide to help with graphics, because I am in desperate need of this kind of help.
Thank you all who have given their support.
Time for a break.
Anyway, for those interested, the latest version can be found here:
DOWNLOAD
It's an early beta of what will eventually be a Metroidvania. So far I have four bosses, several enemies, and the engine is nearly done, I just need more bosses, enemies, and upgrades. The major things left is graphics, something I really need help with.
New:
Two new areas, a couple upgrades, the ability to have up to 3 save files, and tilesets for the first area, although it's not particularly good. It's better than black boxes, though. I cut down player speed a bit, so hopefully control will be better. I also got rid of the first double jump upgrade, you start with double jump already higher.
I think that's all.
Specific Questions:
Is there anyway I can improve?
What would you like to see?
If you happen to be interested in helping with aesthetics(graphics, music, sound), that would be fantastic. I suck at those.

Too lazy right now. besides, as stated, I need help with graphics. virtually all of it is placeholders. It's basically pure engine right now.
In other news, I'd love graphical help.

There is never a good excuse not to post screenshots.
Seriously, they're really important. Unless someone is excited to download your game, they probably won't give it a second thought. You always need to motivate people to play it or you're wasting your time. ФֻФ |

Thinking it's likely to make people not want to play the game isn't a good excuse?
The game is fun, but it's not very nice looking as of yet. and by not nice looking, I mean the player controls a box.
Although I have someone making me a tile set for one of the area tonight, so we'll see. |

It's not laziness, it's the fact that the game is ugly as hell right now. I was gonna take pictures when and only when I actually have good sprites. I hacked together a tile set for the first area though, so that could be out later tonight.
I already took some screen shots, but I don't have time to upload them just yet. they're on my laptop that does not have internet, I still need to transfer them. |
