I just went to GameStop...
...and played Super Mario Galaxy. I figured out it wasn't the demo, but the FULL GAME. Lesser Mario fans should check it out; me, I'm totally saving the 99% of the game I didn't play for when I buy it.
Best game I've ever played in my life. Mario moves and controls like a wonder, and using the Wiimote and Nunchuck together plays amazingly, and feels even better than the Gamecube controller. Even walking and jumping around feels wonderful. The long jump is back, which is especially fun, along with all the other Mario 64 jumping moves. In the Good Egg Galaxy (first galaxy), I jumped off a house on the flat egg-shaped planet you start on, and it was so much fun to fly to the other side and see where I landed. The bosses are the perfect difficulty (I even died once), and they're plentiful too. In the first galaxy there's already two bosses.
Remember Mario 64? Multiply the fun you had with it by a thousand, and you've got Super Mario Galaxy. The planets and objects you explore never have a counterpart anywhere else, so you're always challenging something new. It's wonderful.
The graphics are stunning! They're crisp and beautiful, and the light work on textures is great. The framerate never wavers. People who say the graphics aren't good... ha... it seriously looks just as good, if not better, than any Xbox game. It's not photorealistic, but it's not supposed to be.
The difficulty is not easy. It starts out a little light, then gets very hard. It can truly be a hardcore Mario game. I even died on the first boss, which was pretty tough the first time.
Mario's back, baby. Hitting a ? Block again was good fun, as well as using Invincibility Stars. It feels like an old-school Mario, but you can go anywhere. There are even 2D sections, which I was worried about at first, but you only see them in about one in eight galaxies and don't subtract from the game. In fact, they're a lot of fun.
All this, just from playing the Good Egg Galaxy, the Honeyhive Galaxy, and the Loopdeeloop Galaxy. Even if you're not interested in this game, go to a GameStop and try it out. You won't be disappointed.
It's so good, I'm not going to keep going there. I'm going to wait until the game comes out and have it for myself. |

Nice preview review. I didn't think the control would work well, but maybe I'm wrong. |

The control is a hundred times better than using the N64/Gamecube controller.
Oh, did I mention the camera is perfect? I didn't ever have to use the camera control (in fact, I forgot it existed)!
...does it even exist?
<_<

I went to Gamestop yesterday and they said they "didn't get the disk yet," and I can only play Mp3 until they get it in. I'll check tomorrow when I get GHIII |

Well, I'm surely getting it. Maybe not the release day (because I hate crowds), but... yeah. |

By nearly perfect, do you mean as people have described Zelda: OOT perfect (though I'd give the game a 6/10), or Super Mario Bros 3 "Really Good" perfect? |
