I cant agree. Mainly because I know the flaws of each of those characters.

Explain why for all but Pit please.
Ike's powerful, but still decently slow. Some projectiles (Link's Bombs, Toon Link's Bombs, etc) can stop every attack except maybe Aether, which can be countered easily on the way back down. My Mr. Game & Watch, who I usually use for projectile fighters, can defeat him. And Counter is much worse than Lucario's double team.
Marth's Final Smash is harder to hit with than with Link's, which is really easy to avoid in my opinion. While fast and able to rack up damage, I can't find him any better than Meta Knight in any reguard.
Wolf has broken AI. I'll give you that.
Pit has near-infinate recovery and infinate combo.
...however, I could say that Wario is rigged because you can easily score an infinity with his butt smash (down throw), and Wario-man bike is an instant KO to multiple opponents, which isn't equalized by his character (like Captain Olimar). Explaination against this? |

I said all BUT Pit...well, Wolf, too. Pit's really obvious...and yet, somehow attractive. Lucky items are what win matches against Pit and Wolf, I'll give you that. The Fire Emblem Characters...not so much. |

There are no broken characters.
All of the ones you mentioned can easily be beaten by skill, and a tactic that depends on the character you're using.
And most of the people who keep saying there are broken characters probably didn't think of improving their way into being able to beat them like any other character. |

sigh...Sakurai has stated before he made the character so that one of them isn't better than others, he made them EQUALLY good, all of them. Thats why the game's pace is much slower, thanks to the new physics engine. Yes those characters listed can be annoying (especially Pit) but you do know there are far more annoying characters out there when a person spams a certain move, examples would be G&W's A combo, Lucas/Ness' PK Fire, Falco's down B spammed, King Dedede's Waddle Dees, Pikachu's down B, Meta Knight's bunch of moves, the list goes on. EVERY CHARACTER IN THE GAME HAS PROS AND CONS Ike, he has power, but he lacks speed, Sakurai made it so he wouldn't be too powerful. Equal. Ike is only annoying and considered "broken" when a player spams his side/up B. Spammers are spammer, if you find a spammer, find a way to counterattack his moves. Basically ANYONE can defeat an Ike. Heck even my King Dedede had no trouble taking care of a Lv. 9 Ike. I kinda started seconding Ike, but I don't use his side/up B at all (unless its for recoveries), I focus on his power and his ground game, which is really good. Marth also has a flaw, his range isn't "amazing anymore" thats a nerf there. Sakurai added nerf for veterans for the purpose to balance out the characters. Sure he may have a bit of power, but its nothing like Bowser/King Dedede/Ike/Ganondorf's power. And I would say Marth's air game is better than is ground game. If a player focus' on the ground game and is really good at it, he has a chance to win against Marth. People may think Marth is cheap just because he has speed and power in the air. But from what I see, Marth has no moves that are spammable. And theres his Shield Breaker, which isn't useful to me anymore than it was in Melee. Wolf's side smash just has a crazy range, but long ranged skilled players or players with a great air game should be able to take out Wolf, since Wolf is only great on the ground. Again, Wolf has flaws like everyone else. coughhissideBcough. Pit is great in the air and has 2 spammable special moves, but personally I can take out a Pit player easily. And yes, Marth is my main and Ike is in one of my secondarys ;; |

Wolf's smash attacks are overpowered.
Pit can win easily by spamming B moves. His Up+B lasts too long.
Marth is another fast, tough character. A bit too strong...
Ike? I don't even need to explain him anymore. :P |

I like playing as wolf and ike, but you don't have to begrudge me as I lean towards ROB. |

What about Bowser? He's the heaviest character, has one of the best knockbacks, has decent recovery, deals insane damage, and has average movement speed (the same as Lucas or ROB), and has decent atacking speed. Plus, his B-Forward can be used to kill both of you easily by jumping off the edge, which can be extremely unfair if he has high damage and you have low damage. It makes stock matches really unfair.
Example:
You're facing somebody as Bowser. You're both about equally skilled.
Bowser has 100% damage, 3 lives You have 0% damage, 2 lives
He uses B-forward, kills you both. Now he has 2 lives, you have 1, and neither of you have any damage.
That B-forward is way overpowered in the right situations. |
