What, like PS4 and Xbox720?
Also, the one from GamePro was just an improvement, with things that they said in the pre-launch stuff but never did. (DVDs and CDs, a crapload of colors, etc.)

Sounds like a lot of people are misinterpreting what's happening.
The Wii 2 is IN DEVELOPMENT. It's NOT coming out any time soon. Iwata mentioned in an earlier interview that they begin development for the next console pretty much immediately after one comes out; the development for the Wii, for example, began shortly after the GameCube came out. It's hardly a surprise.
The "Miyamoto being out of ideas" thing isn't entirely true. The original quote was something along the lines of him saying that when the Wii first came out, he came up with ideas for the "Wii series" games and Super Mario Galaxy. Now, pretty much all of them are out (sans Wii Music), so he has to start thinking of new ideas. |

I know, but...assuming there will be a similar time gap between the two consoles' releases, we'd only have about 3 years left for the old Wii.

I am SO not going to pay for another game system for another several years. Too expensive. Chore money doesn't help much and I'm that great at making websites yet, so it may be a while before I actually get a part-time job. I'm not quite old enough for most stuff anyways...
But, I'm going to tell you somethings anyways:
Sony NEEDS to think of a new name for their systems
So does Microsoft ((and why have they never made a 180 or a 90?))
Hopefully Nintendo will be able to think of a better name than Wii 2 by the time it actually comes out. And if they can't, then they need to come here. I'm sure we could think of something. |
