It's mostly irrelevant to the topic, however. We're not discussing what type of gamers we are; we're discussing Nintendo's quality, if I'm correct, and that image lends little to the debate on either side of this issue.

I meant the "guy who actually likes video games" was a valid example of the people who don't cara about casual or core.

Hell, the actual reason the chart itself was brought up to point out where darkz stood, meaning it's still completely valid.ಠ_ಠ

Everyone cares, to an extent. Also, I wouldn't call that a valid representation of someone who doesn't care about casual or core; "Wii Fit" or "Nintendogs" certainly weren't what he was saying. "Wanna come over and play some Brawl? We can play MGS4 or Ninja Gaiden too." All three are core games.

Apparantly, "the guy who actually likes videogames" is a core gamer, as well. In other words, the artist who created that list of stereotypes is, himself, a core gamer, and he can't really make much of a point against the "real gamer," when the "real gamer" seemingly appears twice on the list.

I consider myself to be the one guy that actually likes videogames. I really don't care what system it's on, as long as a game is awesome.

Also, I know a lot of #1s at my school. Ugh...

Or he was using them as an example to explain console diversity instead of casual versus core. And since when does anyone suddenly blurt out their entire library of games to their friends in person when inviting them over?ಠ_ಠ

So, it doesn't signify people who don't care about casual vs. core; rather, people who appreciate quality games.

No one. But we must remember, the character is symbolic, and what the character appears as/does represents something as a whole.

I'm getting tired of people going on about this.

1. I don't care about the casual/core argument - if a game looks good, I play it.
2. There are plenty of games coming out that look interesting to me. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's rubbish.
3. VIRTUAL. CONSOLE. You cannot say that you have played every game in there.

I don't know whether I should laugh or be angry at you guys for going on and on and on about this. NINTENDO IS FINE. JUST BECAUSE THE GAMES AREN'T MARIO OR ZELDA OR WHATEVER DOESN'T MEAN THEY'RE BAD.

The main reason we're arguing about casual/core is because casual games do tend to be bad, most of the time. Poorly made, that isn't a trait that relies on taste.

In the absense of Mario, Metroid or Zelda, we get what is essentially a port of Animal Crossing, a decent-but-short Wii Platformer (Wario), a couple more good games here and there, and, well, Wii *Insert title here* and a bunch of lackluster third party games. There is a problem with Wii's library, and a Nintendo console has never had this large of an amount of crappy titles over good titles- and Nintendo's focus has, indeed, shifted, as evidenced by the last E3's press conference. Nothing but non-gamer gimmicky games. They thought that Animal Crossing and GTA DS would hold the core audience out; well, they didn't.
