I feel terribly lazy to read all the posts, but this is a serious topic and it hasn't gone for long enough yet, so I figure it's okay to state my opinion without reading anything else before.

Well, for starters, pardon if this part of the post seems offensive, but... I still don't really understand how homo/bisexuality works. I mean, in a scientific way. Our bodies have been programmed for survival and reproduction; based on that, I have a hard time thinking how come homo/bisexuality could scientifically exist.

However, that aside, I see homo/bisexuality as a completely normal piece of opinion. There's nothing abnormally wrong with it. And furthermore, the thing against it is only a modern thing. In Greece, for example, homosexuality was common, and put a big COMMON in that. There's a lot of it in mythology, and heterosexual couples were as normal as couples between teens and older men.

I think that homosexuality evolved so that there would be someone to take care of the excess offspring when straight couples over-reproduce.

Penguins, for example. A couple of penguins can only care for one baby at a time. So what happens if they accidentally lay two eggs, and they have a baby they can't care for? A pair of gay penguins takes care of the extra baby.

I'm dead serious, look it up.

It's the same reason we're polite to each other instead of bashing the skulls of our rivals open, like our cavemen equivalents might have.

Sure, homosexuality isn't taught like manners are, but we do learn about equality among and genders as we go along. Now, this may be a hard mindset to follow, but try to follow along here.

A child is born without a care in the world who he or she likes. They start with a clean slate about the whole idea, and nothing really tends to affect that until school comes along. When a child gets to school, one of the first things they learn is to be nice to everyone, boys and girls alike. As they go on through elementary school, they learn the importance of making friends from every subsect of life. Some students piece two and two together, and they realize that if we're supposed to like everyone, that means the gender shouldn't matter in anything. Not even love. In fact, reproduction is the ONLY reason there are two genders at all. There's nothing emotional about reproduction; it's mindless baby making until you die. But love is something totally different.

So, if gender only matters in reproduction, and reproduction isn't love, then gender doesn't matter in love.

That's the basics of it, right there.

Speaking in terms of biology or evolution, yes, it is a negative genetic trait that deters from the main purpose for why sexual intercourse evolved in the first place (To procreate. Otherwise, we would probably asexually reproduce, and sexual intercourse would be nonexistant.) However, whether or not it is biologically helpful/harmful is irrelevant; our society has evolved to the point where such characteristics don't determine who a person is. So, in other words, yes, homosexuality isn't evolutionarily beneficial to the biological evolution of our species, but it doesn't matter, anyway, as we have replaced our need for biological evolution and survivalism with technological advancement.

Why should we care if someone is homosexual or not? They are just as perfectly capable as any other human being (As long as they don't become one of those "clowns" I was talking about in my first post. But hey, plenty of straight people become sex-crazed clowns, as well.)

From time to time, I question whether "true love" actually exists and is anything more than a delusion, but it's the right of other individuals to believe that it exists.
