The third game in the Mario & Luigi series is on it's way. The game starts with the residents of the Mushroom Kingdom gathering to discuss an issue about a disease that has been spreading throughout the kingdom. Bowser, while under the control of the villain, Fawful (Japanese name = Gerakowitz), shows up and sucks everyone into his stomach.
The top screen is used for controlling Bowser as he seeks out Fawful to wreak his revenge. The brothers are located on the bottom screen. Inside of Bowser is the mysterious Hemoglobin, a yellow block-like character that knows his way around Bowser's insides, offers valuable assistance.
The game play switches back and forth between Bowser and the Mario Bros., each having an effect on the other. Mario and Luigi can pinch nerves and touch muscles that have effects on Bowser. Even though he sucked them up, Bowser is unaware that the Mario Bros. are inside him. Bowser gains a "vacuum" attack that will suck up enemies in battle and send them straight to Mario and Luigi, forcing the battle to switch to them.
As the bros move throughout Bowser's body, they will encounter attack parts which can be used for special moves such as "Sweet Basket," which involves Mario tossing a giant Luigi (all puffed up from eating too much candy), at enemies. Bowser is able to summon Goomba in one of his attacks, where be sets them a blaze as they run to tackle his foes.
It seems that Fawful will be entering the picture once more.
Mario & Luigi 3 is set to release in Japan on February 11th. No word on a US release yet. |

The general rule that I understand is that brightly-colored Bob-Ombs (like pink or yellow) are Bob-Omb Buddies, and black-colored ones are enemy Bob-Ombs.
I first heard about this game in NP Feb 2009 issue. Mario and Luigi controlling Bowser from inside = *crag* YES!
At least there's no stupid Shroobs or weird Time Holes. I WILL miss using the babies, but controlling Bowser is oh so worth it.

Also, did anyone notice that the Goomba in the lineup picture looks abit like...

I disagree. The pig thing doesn't look anything like Bowser. Bowletta, however, litterally did look half Cackletta and half Bowser.
