Sounds similar to the Vundo virus (AKA Virtumonde) I got on one of my computers a while ago.
If it is Vundo, then you might not have much luck getting rid of it. In the end I had to nuke the computer and start afresh.
Google has guides on how to fix it though if it does turn out to be the case. |

Well, there are many kinds of malware out there, and these are symptoms of Adware.
Adware is a little program installed on your computer without you knowing. What it does is spawn popups based on certain protocols, like what sites you visit , or just random. The reason you are getting popups without being connected to the internet is because of adware spawning the popups. So, go download a malware cleaner, such as Malwarebytes and clean the thing out. |
