If it's obvious, then it must have a grounding in easily perceptible reality. Therefore, it is not bullshit.

But it is, because his argument is reused. People just don't care anymore Zelnor, it does have a grounding of easily perceptible reality but it's so often reused it eventually becomes another meaning, He's not saying the site is dieing, he's complaining about being unsatisfied because he doesn't see the site in a way he wants to see it.

You're right. I am complaining about how it is not how I want to see it. Are you saying you want to see it dead? Because I certainly do not, which is what this whole post was about!

Please, don't spout nonsense in my topics.

We did not have nearly inactive moderators last year. Francis was a bit more active. Everything was better, though not perfect last year.

You seem to not understand what it means when I say the site is "dying". The death of a forum is a gradual thing. It's not some dramatic moment in history, like a bomb going off. It's slow. Like a disease.

When I say the site is dying, it could not die for another year or two. But that doesn't change the fact it IS on a road to death. And the longer people turn their noses up at this fact, the harder it will be to keep this place alive.

But then again, you are the type that lives in the moment, so I suppose you don't have the capacity to think about the future. Or you just don't care. Either one is bad.

THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE TO ACCEPT THAT IT ISN'T AS BAD AS YOU THOUGHT, AND TO CONTINUE ENJOYING THE SITE WITHOUT COMPLAINING ABOUT IT. *points to post above* I'm not saying it is going to die in the immediate future. But it will soon if people continue this path.

Optimists are just ignorant people who smile at everything. I am neither an optimist nor a pessimist. I state what is logical, not the dark or happy. I state truth.

Also, I do not wish for more moderatos. Being stricter while on is one of the problems. We need strict mods who have a lot of time on their hands. Limited time and strictness is what leads to those stupid court topics I mentioned earlier.

Or did people forget to read that?

So this is like a prediction pretty much. Your not sure if the site is gonna die your just guessing it might because of specific cycles of death you've seen among forums. Well you know what Chaos, your right, the site COULD die in a year or two from now but at least we could say we had a good *crag* run you know. And you know how it's gonna get there? By eliminating all this "The site is dieing crap" and you know how were gonna do that? Were not gonna give a shit about your negativity since it's irrelevant.

So, rather than trying to fix a problem that has a 76% probability rate of happening, you will turn a blind eye and do nothing, while the forum rots, and eventually dies?

BUT YOU'RE NOT STATING WHAT IS LOGICAL. YOU ARE PARTAKING IN RADICAL, HYPED UP DOOMSAYING, WHICH IS FAR FROM THE TRUTH.

ACTUALLY, MAKING ACTIVE MODS STRICTER WOULD RESULT IN MORE OF THE "STUPID" COURT TOPICS. THE REASON WHY WE HAVE THOSE STUPID COURT TOPICS IS BECAUSE THERE ARE SOME WHO WANT TO PUNISH PEOPLE FOR EVERY LITTLE THING WHEN OUR PRIORITY SHOULD REST ON SERIOUS OFFENSES; OFTEN TIMES, THE THINGS THAT ANALLY STRICT MODS STRIKE TEND TO NOT BE VERY BAD AT ALL. IF WE FORCED MODS TO BE MORE STRICT, WE WOULD ONLY GET MORE OF THEM, BECAUSE MODS WOULD HAVE MUCH TOUGHER STANDARDS REGARDING WHAT'S ALLOWED AND WHAT ISN'T (AND NO DOUBT A MOD WHO'S CONDITIONED TO BE STRICT WHO HAS ALOT OF TIME ON HIS HANDS IS GOING TO GET BORED AND WANT TO STRIKE MINOR THINGS FOR FUN).

LENIENCY + ACTIVITY = LESS STUPID COURT TOPICS, AND A MODERATION FORCE WHOSE PRIORITIES CONSIST OF FIXING SERIOUS PROBLEMS. FRANCIS RECENTLY CHANGED THE FOCUS OF THE MODERATION TEAM TO FIXING PROBLEMS THAT MAY ACTUALLY DAMAGE THE COMMUNITY INSTEAD OF MINOR PROBLEMS LIKE NECROPOSTING OR CASUAL CENSOR BYPASS. IF BECOMING STRICT MEANS MORE RULES (WHICH WILL NATURALLY RESULT IN MODS NEEDING TO STRIKE THOSE THINGS IN ADDITION TO ACTUAL PROBLEMS), WE'LL ONLY SEE MORE CLOGGED UP COURT TOPICS.

WE NEED TO MOVE FORWARD, NOT BACK.

Each of us seem quite set in their opinion, and neither can present any factual evidence (Well, who goes around tallying topics.)

I think we have to alter our arguments basing on that we were being metaphorical with death - we were referring to a constant decay of the level of quality and fun in the forum. Of course the forum is still going. but we wonder whether its the same one we joined. Yes, change is inevitable especially in an environment such as the innernetz, but we wonder whether others see it the same or not.

Maybe we do need to not dwell too much on the past, but I think we could take pointers from it. I'm all for a pragmatic approach to problems, so I might have misstated it, but... eh. How do I express this at 7 AM?

But please, do take us seriously, Cid. At least I don't consciously do this 'for the lulz' or out of a fad. I actually do wish to improve digibutter. I don't suggest I have all the answers or something, but trivializing my arguments and generalizing my intentions and motives is slightly insulting.

EDIT: This getting too much into SERIOUS BUSINESS department; I'll return after a chill pill and a day of school. See ya.

Der vere zwei kleine Peanuts walking along der Strasse, and one vas assaulted - nut. O ho ho ho ho ho.

Well, whether this site is dying or not, we can all say one thing: The main reason so many people are complaining is about Francis and the mods, so I think they need to come back. I don't think ANY of the mods are even here, any more.
