FFCC games are really addictive. Well, at least Ring of Fates. The original got kind of boring, but RoF is seriously one of my favorite DS games to date.

Final Fantasies IV, V, and VI are the only truly worthwhile ones there are.

III is decent too, though.

IX and X are epic, too. :<

But yeah: I'd suggest getting at least a PSX for Final Fantasy. You can find them for thirty dollars at some places, and you can play all the Final Fantasies except III, X, XI, and XII.

1 and 2 to understand three do I?

Because I want, 3, 4, the cc for DS, and the Gamecube one.

Every Final Fantasy is different unless specified. They don't connect in any way.

So not playing 1 and 2 is fine. I haven't played any except for FFCCRoF, FFCC, and FFIII.
