Brawl is an on and off thing.
After awhile, you get tired of it, and then pick it up again, and find some more stuff to mess with in it.

Brawl is an interesting game, as it was carried solely on hype. While games such as MGS4 and Halo 3 truly are fun. I could play Metal Gear Solid 4 for days straight, but I can't stand to play Brawl for even an hour. The graphics of MGS4 are simply beautiful, surpassing all other console games. While some might say "BRAWL ISN'T SUPPOSED TO LOOK REALISTIC" look at Team Fortress 2. Beautiful, yet somewhat cartoony. The gameplay of MGS4 is downright excellent, and every intense moment feels intense. Brawl is almost fun, and I always feel relaxed, even if I have the highest percentage and lowest lives. Then there is the matter of music. METAL GEARRRRRR has a beautiful (almost) completely original sound track, with a few select tracks from various Konami games. Brawl has a massive pile of remixes, which, don't get me wrong, are pretty good, but just rehashing all your old songs does not an original sound track make. That is probably the only area in which the victor is not clear. The story of MGS4 is excellent, and I will not discuss the ending with anyone unless they themselves have completed the game. While people will have a tough time understanding the story if they haven't played the first three, but that would be their fault, as it is kinda MGS4. Brawl however has a puddle of a story. I mean honestly, what is the plot anyways? OH SHIT RANDOM ATTACK WE BETTER GO TRACK DOWN THAT EVIL DUDE WHO IS OBVIOUSLY BEHIND IT AND GET HELP FROM OUR ARCHENEMIES? That would be fine if it were an Atari game, but this game is on a next-gen console. We expect better from developers. |

I must admit that the sheer amount of nostalgia and Nintendo history that was in Brawl (In the form of trophies, etc.) is impressive. |
