Well, when you have a winning formula, you try to keep it. And when i say "winning", I mean in term of sale.
Probably Halo 3 litterally did that, and instead of editing something in the equation, it added some, to not take much risk.
Super Mario Sunshine did take the risk to edit things, and the result is generally told to be lesser than Super Mario 64. Even though FLUDD was pure win, this time in term of gameplay.
Just to compare a little...
But if Halo 3 can give the Wii more competition, it's a good thing.
As for me? Well, FPS is not my style. The only one I did enjoy was Goldeneye 64, and even then...
Any other I tryed after this, I had a problem with aiming. And I didn't play any metroid game yet, neitheir... The genre is just unnattractive for me.
The only exception is Mansion Patrol, the arcade game in Super Paper Mario. This one is awesome x10. |

It's overrated. I've never actually played it, but no game ever made could possibly live up to that much hype. |

I think it has in some ways lived up to the real hype, as in not the fan hype. I mean the improved the already good multiplayer and the single player I think we can all agree is much better with 4-player online co-op and a not crappy ending. |
