I'm gonna get shot for saying this, but I care more about puppies than random people I don't know and never will know. Like, if I had to chose between saving a dying puppy or a dying person I didn't know or care much about... I'd go with the puppy. |

And just imagine your the puppy.
The soldier is holding you and you are scared, then he throws you off a cliff and you're scared as hell while falling off a cliff, and you're also dizzy while falling.
Then you finnaly fall at the bottom and you're dead.
That's what makes it sad. |

Real or Fake, you have to realize the type of people who go into the military. sure we have a deal of brilliant people. but a greater number of folk are troublemakers Either looking for some structure of just something that pays.
I come from a military family. and I understand that not all the troops are sunshine cupcakes and lollipops. There are soldiers who go in to kill. and they are usually the first to die.( tend to go on the most missions) those there for pay. who want to stay alive, and those there for honor, and of course those who have collage payed by the military.
If its real Id have to say this Sadistic troop is defiantly a killer. If its fake This guy is probably just a regular joe with an off sense of violent humor, Reminiscent of a frat boy.... ( the latter type) |

that was the most digustingly sadistic thing I've ever seen. my belief, SSSS-BOOM, is that you should never kill anything except in self-defense (since, ya know, if a species doesn't have a sense of self-preservation, its not gonna last very long). and yeah, that means I don't mind if you squash a bug in your house, but I do disapprove of even hunting for "sport"... |

I understand that it was a terrible thing to do, but, and I know that I will piss just about everyone off for saying this, but I don't believe it was that big of a deal. Thousands of humans are dying, probably some in similiar ways, and how is this any worse? I have met people that care about animals, such as puppies, being killed more than humans being killed. Why, though? What makes a non-human animal more worthy of concern than a human? The "cute" factor probably plays a roll in it, and I don't believe "cuteness" should be something determining the value of an organism. There are also the "humans are not pure- they are selfish and greedy" arguements, but, in truth, aren't all organisms selfish and greedy to an extent? Humans fight with eachother for their own personal gains, such as money, and animals will fight with eachother for their own personal gains, such as for food or mates. However, is desire an aspect that should truly be frowned upon? Or should it be accepted? The fact is, that there is no perfect being in any existing system of morals. There are always imperfections relevant to a person's own belief systems, and perception plays a role in that, as well.
Now, the puppy incident was still wrong, for it was an act of pure cruelty by some sadistic soldiers. However, just because what they did was wrong doesn't make it any worse than killing any innocent human. |

Not to be off-topic, but i'd flame you right here and now if I didn't want to get a strike;
The only thing that bugs me about animal killing, or any kind of killing to ANY creature is torture, or long lasting pain which is also torture. I believe everybody should die in a quick manner. Not in a slow, painful manner.
Obviously, that puppy died instantly. From a cliff? That tall? Please. Instant splatter. I don't feel that bad. But a marine is part of the U.S.
He serves and protects.
That puppy wasn't doing anything wrong, was it? It wasn't endangering them.
There are plenty of videos on youtube of soliders from IRAQ possibley torturing dogs.
Lets list them.
#1. Throwing rocks at a crippled dog. (Mind you, it isn't death but that's just rude.)
#2. Scaring the CRAP out of a puppy. (Over 4 times he repeatedly scared it. It isn't torture, but I mean 4 times is pretty...erg.)
#3. Blowing up a dog. (That's right, blowing it up. Hopefully it died instantly. The video ended before the smoke cleared and no body parts went flying from what I saw.)
#4. Shot to head. (Instant death. It looked like the dog was already in pain. I say its a good reason to kill any living thing if they're crippled, or a lot of pain... But it's still killing. For all we know, it just stubbed its paw.)
It just seems to be common for marines, soliders, whatever to harm dogs, in my opinion. But why has this particular one been chosen to be... uhm... Publicised? Because. Could you imagine being thrown off a cliff with a full life ahead. That puppy had so much to live for. It looked young and well.

I know people are gonna flame me for this, but I hate US soldiers. They go to kill, not protect, and there was NO reason to murder that puppy. like most people here have said, I care more about that puppy than a Soldier. |
