Well, yes, but that's not what I really meant. I meant that it takes more skill, rather than moving a mouse, having the right apps, and knowing all of the tools. Not to say that it doesn't require any skill, because it does. It requires quite a bit, but it requires more to be able to paint or draw or things with hands. |

You're acting like just because I use PS, that means I have no artistic talent. I USE A PENCIL GUILD LIKE PETEY. I DO WORK OFF THE COMPUTER. HELL I DON'T EVEN LIKE USING PS TO MAKE IT ALL PRETTY.

That is complete bullshit. Just because somebody has Photoshop doesn't mean they're not talented. It takes a hell of a lot of practice to get everything down in that program - sort of the reason people do it for a living. |

Everything I do on PS is done by hand with a tablet which is the exact equivalent to drawing on paper, DESU~. |

You could say the same thing about drawing something on paper. You could say that all you have to do is move the pencil and have the right tools. But it's not that simple. Just because you have fancy programs that make everything seem easier because it looks better doesn't mean you can draw. >_> you still have to know the same stuff as all the other artists in the world, an understanding of anatomy, knowing how to shade, and a lot of other things. Plus, you have to have a good imagination. You can't just draw Mario or something and say it's your creation. Yes, you drew it, but you don't own the character. And it would almost be considered art theft if you drew Mario in the same pose as another picture you looked at for reference. And it doesn't take 5 minutes to draw a really good picture with a lot of effort in it. It takes hours. And, just like how a picture can be ruined on paper, it can be ruined on the computer too. Sometimes the programs aren't very reliable and they can crash, and if that happens, you're pretty much screwed if you didn't save your picture before it crashed. And plus, computers can have all sorts of other problems...mine shuts itself off a lot, so I have to be careful when I work on a picture. It can also be ruined by something as simple as you don't understand how to use the program.

You're still completely wrong. The comparison you're making is kind of like saying since you have Microsoft Word, it would be easier for you to write poetry, because you're on the computer. Guess what? That's completely wrong. Most people use this thing called a tablet, it turns your monitor into some big drawing board. And it's completely harder to draw on the computer than it is to draw on paper. The end result may be a lot prettier, but that's only because hours upon hours of work is put into it. |
