After watching Death Note last night (yes, first-timer...laugh at me if you must) I looked back at all of the old anime. This is the only one that I still like. It's not excessive in violence when violence is the main element, keeps a lot up its sleaves, and really isn't an anime at all as much as it is a screwed-up American TV show with Japanese elements.
