Racism is different. If your racist, of course you'll be hated. That is why you keep your racist comments to yourself. Now not doing the pledge definitely won't get you in trouble, or be hated. Now the first amendment isn't a "bad" rule. What if we DON'T have the first amendment? This country will be close to what we call communism. Without freedom, this whole country will become one giant military school.
Of course I'm not putting people who does the pledge down. If they do the pledge for their own reason, fine. If you have no reason, or you hate the country we call the United States, thats fine too. Thinking the pledge is retarded, thats fine IMO. Just don't rub it in people's face. And yes, I'm allowed to say screw America in my school. *crag* US.
We are entitled to our own opinion. That is all. Don't go rubbing it in other's face.
FOR THE MOTHERLAND!!!! Just sharing my view. :> |

Also, the first amendment gives us the right to say whatever the hell we want. If I want to say "The pledge sucks", I have a given right to do so. If I get in trouble for saying it, then my right is being suppressed. |
Te constitution does not fully apply to minors, which you are. Once again, it is foolish, but it is so. |

But really now, getting reprimanded for exercising your right to free speech is rather ironic, since the reprimanding falls under free speech as well. | I am a Canadian, in a Canadian school where they teach American history, so explain, please. For the rest of this topic, I believe "when in a place, do as the people native to that place do." Idunno HOW it applies, but it does. I stood for the anthem in a time when I was atheist, but that's just me. I'm sure one of you wants to say: "Yes, exactly you." There. It's said already. Leave me out of this now please. Edit: if you quote me, cut off the pyramid part with frozenwinters. it helps to keep the quote population at a reasonable number. |

Plus, if that line is even in there, it shows that there is no separation of church and state, as it clearly states that we are a country under God. | ...You're saying that the church RUNS this country?... ...I don't think that the US government is run my anyone religion, or any at all... ~White Shy Guy | This is true in a sense.
But you guys seem to mention God a lot in your traditions, don'tcha?
When you're in court, you swear on a BIBLE, so help you GOD.
When the president finishes a speech, he says GOD bless America.
The Pledge of Allegiance states "One nation under GOD."
Churches may not run the country, but it sounds to me like Christianity has you guys by the nutsack and is twisting without hubris. |

That's because the beings who founded the country were Christian. One of the reasons they came here was to escape religious persecution from Catholics. They probably saw it as an act of God or something when they won against Britain, thus this hole tradition thing was born.
It has nothing to do with our system now. People are just to lazy to take it out. |
