"Uhhh...the last time I tried..." Dedede had painful memories of a monster couch devouring him until, eventually, a Bugzzy and a Bonkers had to pull him out while throwing exploding football-like coconuts at the couch.

"...still don't mean I'm not gunna spend money on you." Dedede laughed. "Uhhh...think dinner's done...you comin'?"

Devin stood and put her calculator away.

Dedede smiled and lead her to the dining hall...

...which was absolutely huge. Solid gold statues of King Dedede at least one hundred feet wide each stood proudly in multiple locations. Stained glass windows of Dedede and his loyal companions complimented beautiful tapestries of various colors. A red carpet gave way to a magnificent table, its cloth woven with a silver lining. Candles decorated the table and, as the centerpiece, a gigantic ice sculpture of Devin stood proudly in the center. There were also a few fountains, because fountains are awesome.

Food had already covered the several-yard table from one end to the other, and it all looked delicious. Also cute enough to eat were Waddle Dees, which danced around the table. They would've broken out into song if they had the ability.

"Well? Ya like?" Dedede asked.

Dedede smiled. He did well. He hugged Devin gently, then set her down across from him in the center of the table. "Go ahead, take as much as you'd like" Dedede invited. He then took a plate of mashed potatoes and...tried to eat politely. It was still pretty bad, but...he was trying...

There was quite a huge variety of things to choose from, and King Dedede could really pack it all in there. Amazingly, he looked kind of cute, in a penguin sort of way, while he was eating.

Eventually (when almost all of the food was gone), he stopped, waiting for Devin. King ate fast.

Devin at a lot compared to what she usually did, but it still wasn't that much, so she was done soon, too. And she could actually eat pretty fast, herself.

"...yeah, you'd probably prefer your own..." Dedede muttered. He then took off his "crown" and put on a nightcap. "Third door to the right's a guest bedroom, the door at the end o' the hall's the master bedroom. Ya can go in either. Good night." Dedede yawned. He then stumbled into the master bedroom.

Guy knew how to pack it in and hit the sack. A true American hero.

Devin shrugged and entered the master bedroom. After taking her sleeping medication out of her bag, she was out like a log.

Dedede patted her on the head and fell asleep pretty quickly. Well, after watching about an hour of cartoons, that is.
