Your brain is separated into two different, and sometimes even completely opposite minds.
These would be the Conscious and the Sub-Conscious. What you consider to be "YOU," the thought processes, the ideas, the part of your brain that makes you talk and breathe and sing... that is your conscious.
But this is such a small part of your mind. Beyond this mind is your sub-conscious... and it controls everything that you don't. Your personality, your emotions, even the beating of your heart... everything is here. If you're unhappy, it is your subconscious mind's fault for causing that emotion.
But what is amazing about the sub-conscious mind is how mysterious it is. It is secretive, to the point that even the owner of the brain cannot delve into it. Sure, there are some crazy nuts that believe they can mediate to see into their subconscious minds, but the truth is that they can't.
There are not super-natural powers stuffed away in the sub-conscious mind, either.
What is there, however, is far more interesting... your emotions and personality. Anything and everything that makes up what you consider to be YOU is inside your sub-conscious mind... and this can take a lot of brain power. We are complex beings that have emotions beyond fear and happiness, and we have complex memories and patterns of logic, all handled by this brain.
Sadly, however, it is barely understood. Some nut jobs believe they can see into the future, or read minds, or some other silly little thing, but are in fact wrong.
Humans do, however, have a sort of sixth sense... that tense feeling when you walk into a room, knowing the emotions of other people, somehow knowing that someone is there behind you... this, however, was developed purely out of necessity. One does not survive if they are blind to the world they live in.
There are some things I left out, and some things I probably should not have put in, but this is the most factual summery of the human brain that any of you, aside from someone who has actually graduated high school, can come up with.
Francis might be able to add something to this topic with his education... aside from that, nobody else needs to add their knowledge, or rather lack of it, to my summery. |

Could you delve into the concept of savants then, because I think that would also well apply depending on the person. Simply tapping into parts of the brain that aren't accessible by the average person. |

Just for the mention, not all humans have a sort of sixth sense. The ones who do probably do because they had the luck of getting it from the genetic recombination. |

The sub-conscious kicks ass. I mean, that's how we lucid dream. |

Like I said, it was made out of necessity. When the necessity to know what's going on in your surroundings went away, most humans lost a huge amount of awareness. |

It's best not to try to study the human brain. It's probably the most complex intelligent system Earth has. |

I'm curious as to why it would not be positive to study the human mind. If it is so complex and we could fiigure it out, could we not use concepts like it ourselves? |

Hmm...you stated being unable to delve into the sub-consciencous mind of the brain.
Such a task, but I am able to achieve a potential part of this. Hardly believable, but true. Such is the reason I chose Meta Knight as my name for here. For I can easily relate the sub-conscienous part of my brain to him. I am an enigma of the mind and being. I am able to control my emotion very easily, though I do have a nasty temper.
Seeing the future, in my case, is the meer fact of Deja Vu'. Often a night, as I have said before, I dream an event which later turns out to become reality. It could be days later, or even later that day or night. This event is explained by the unnerving fact that the sub-consciencous mind is able to generate future event that the owner is unable to recognize until later on, when such event happen. Again, enigma of the utmost extraordinary ways. These events of Deja Vu' I still do not fully understand.
The sixth sense ordeal is true, but it is higher developed in some more than others. Some are completely oblivious to its effects, others are somewhat at an advanced level, upon which you meet others like myself and even beyond.
Ah, lucid dreams. The ability to control what one sees, hears, and does in one's dreams. My, what a fun game to me that is. I do that sometimes on the weekends, when I have my most relaxing dreams. Usually, though, it is a rare chance that I do get to pull off such a stunt of the sub-consciencous mind. Rather fun, otherwise.
To study the human mind and beyond the point of that mind is completely insane. It would drive one to complexities and things that would seem to defy the laws of the universe itself. Such an event would be, as a popular meme seems to be, dividing by zero. If one did eventually end up completely figuring it out, and spread it, the chaos insued would be catastrophic, and humanity itself would be benched for its most forsaken mistake ever. |

I'm sorry, I have nothing more to say to you in this topic than to please leave your talking of supernatural nonsense in your own silly topic. I'd appreciate it if you gave me some factual, scientifically proven information, but sadly you do not do such things. In fact, you tell me myths and falsifications, and expect me to be stupid enough to believe them.
In a way, you are insulting me. |

I can also tap into my subconscious. I use my magical golden mental triangle that I wear around my neck. When I concentrate hard enough it starts glowing and I grow three feet taller and get really good at card games.
Fun times. |

I don't know so much about "psychic abilities". I really don't believe such a power exists within the human mind.
Having said that, like meta knight, I to possess the uncanny ability to manipulate my emotions, or rather, completely eliminate them altogether. This is not to say, however, to be without exception. There are those few times when, usually when I'm feeling down, that I perk up a little.
I too have also, on occasion, "seen the future" in a dream. However, being an insomniac, and therefor, sleeping only three hours a night, I usually don't fall into that dream state. The few dreams I have are either horrible, or "prophetic".
I would prefer you do not insult me for my claims, and that you do not reject them as lies. You made this topic, and it is open for ALL points of view and experiences. Such is the reason I made this post. Insulting people such as myself and Meta Knight only proves you are a stubborn fool who refuses to listen to the ideas of others because you are already too insecure about your own ideals. YOU are insulting ME in a way by not listening, and making a topic that is supposively one-sided, when in all actuality, there are many people here who have similar experiences that you don't want to hear about due to your own incompetence.
Now, if you please, I have more pressing matters to attand to than wallowing in this cespool. |

Very well then. Forgive me...Rawrsky and Popple, for what seems to be tales of lies and paranoia. Forgive me of what seems to be nothing more than meer imagination.
I am completely agreeing with The Chaos Heart at this matter. It is unfair to consult and blame for insulting material here, for it is clearly a topic that is meant of all experiences. It is foolish and shows the uncaring, uncommiting, and disgruntling effects of humanity and it's needs to be perfect and unaltered by one's seeming "lies" and "fantasies." Very shameful. I'd have expected better.
I do, however, appriciate those that seem to be interested in the fields of what you claimed to be "supernatural." |

Okay, it's getting harder and harder to not insult you when you set yourself up SO WELL.
You're not supernatural, or super in any way, your mind isn't trained, you're NOT BETTER THAN US... you're just a lonely, socially inept person that has somehow developed, through social isolation, the idea that you're supernatural.
You're not. Give it a rest. |

Deja vu is a false blip in the brain where it thinks that it recognizes something, where in fact you could travel to Bangladesh for the first time in your life and swear to God that you've seen that certain palm tree before. This is nothing more than a mental hiccup.
I haven't read that much into lucid dreaming, but I know it's possible to train oneself to be able to do it. It's like being half asleep and you remember the dream.
No matter how much you claim to, you do NOT have psychic abilities. Similar to the occult and "alchemy".
I personally believe that the human mind should be studied. If it were possible to understand it, diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer's could be treated effectively and cured. |

Rawrskey, come one. Did they even state in any way about how they were superior to the rest of us? No! You're a walking bonfire.
Anyways, I think the more we find out about the brain, the closer we get to screwing the whole human race over, just like with advancement in technology.
