Wrote these for school. Forgot the order I put them in for my poetry book, but whatever. The order was supposed to mean something. A few are kinda emooooo. For the first one, rawrskey wrote the first verse and I just continued since I was so mind blocked.
Code: | Right to Light
A thief in the night, Who steals not for glory But out of spite Before you notice and fright He's out of sight But he's lost his right To see the light
He was once a noble one Who was a hero to all Stole not for fun But he's on the run Keeping the spoils he won But he's lost his right To see the light
To make his escape He ran into a cave Emptied his cape Of bread freshly baked Of feasts only half ate Of part of a wedding cake But he's lost his right To see the light
The fool built a flame Under the drip-drop rocks He could not start and tame And had failed as night came When the wolves start their game But he's lost his right To see the light
In the frozen cavern He shook and shivered madly As wolves made hunt patterns Alerted, the thief found a lantern But the oil within did not burn Because he's lost his right To see the light
The howls of wolves filled the night As the thief's lantern stood without light Once a man, noble and filled with goodness He died a disgrace, faded in darkness |

All those books That claim to be The one that you Do need to read.
They say they have All the answers to The questions that Always peck at you.
How do I Become a better me? Live a healthier life? Be the best I can be?
With titles like “Simple Success” “More Money” “Be Best Dressed”
But truth be told, The power to do What needs to be done Lies inside of you. |
Code: | All That I Owned
I had a box of crayons The biggest one in class The teacher made me share All the colors that I owned
I had a place to play on The largest in the park My parents made me share All the playground that I owned
I had a spot to sleep on The mutest of the room The teacher made me share All the nap time that I owned
I had a plate to eat on The widest of the stack My parents made me share All the berries that I owned
I had a PC to work on The fastest of school My teacher made me share All the work time that I owned
I had a bed to sleep on The softest of the house My parents made me share All the privacy that I owned
I have a new computer The most my savings can buy No one can take my work My art, my writing, my games, my music All that I own |
Code: | Write Me
You told me, "Write me," So I did.
I wrote you about my days I wrote you about my nights About me and the Weekend Warriors About Tom and his bar fights.
But you replied, "No," "Write me romance," So I did.
I wrote you about those weddings I wrote you about the spring About Jill and her dating sites About Mark and his engagement ring.
But you replied, "No," "Write about you and me," But I couldn't.
I couldn't write about our days I couldn't write about our nights About the times when I held you close About what happens when we turns off the lights.
Because we had none. No matter how much we wanted them. |
Code: | Light
Darkness sweeps in, the light is chased away I look up to the indigo sky... Among the darkness I see a speck of light So small, yet so full of hope The indigo sky embraces me with a warmth As I close my eyes and pray to the heavens That I might someday become That little star amidst the vast indigo sea for you |
Code: | Darkness
We sat at the edge of the world The only thing below us was the sea Thrashing itself against the rocks below Its deep black water lit up By the setting sun on the horizon As night draws near The cool sea breeze blows The darkness envelops us |
Code: | Life
His final moments were vastly different From the life that he once lived A grueling month before, he was lively As if he was once again a youth The stroke was sudden and crippling Sinking his eyes, sallowing his skin Until his life was shoved away |
Code: | Death
“What do you mean it's dead?” “Try it yourself, press the head.” “Can't you just get new batteries?” “Not until I can find my car keys.” “Janie will be so upset, you know.” “Just take her outside and play in the snow.” “You know how much she wanted that doll.” “Fine, I'll take a bus to the mall.” “Are you sure it's still in stock?” “Well before Christmas, there was a flock.” “If you do find it, I'm in debt.” “Don't make it a bet.” |

I'll read them out of love for you, despite my dislike of poetry. |

There's a lot, and a few are long and over emotional. :/ |

poetry IS emotional. Even someone like Zelnor would sound like an emo when writing poems. |

Wow Francine, those are really good. Very emotional and intelligent and also greatly confusing, which is good. |

The sad thing is that I wrote most of them within one night to meet the already late deadline. |
