Okay.
So, around the time of Metroid Prime 3's Japanese release, I recall feeling vaguely disappointed that there was no Iwata Asks for it. I thought for sure that, despite it being released in the US months earlier, it would be translated and put up on the US site if there was one. After all, the same thing happened for Link's Crossbow Training.
Guess what. I just found out that there really IS one.
I am sick and tired of Nintendo of America completely shafting my favorite video game series when in Japan - where Metroid sells less - it's given amazing treatment. Let's see what we've got here...a Japan-only manga that's nearly vital to understanding the backstory of the series. Great Japanese official site as opposed to the half-assed US one (they even took down the Metroid Prime 3 minisite after not delivering the promised updates for months). In fact, for at least several weeks now (it could be more), www.metroid.com only gives you an error message - Nintendo hasn't even tried to fix it. I could go on here, but you get the idea.
I can understand Japan getting exclusive treatment for some things; after all, Nintendo IS based there. But for god's sake, Nintendo of America needs to at least acknowledge the fact that Metroid sells better over here. They can start by fixing Metroid's official website...after all, if somebody is interested in the series, that IS probably the first place they'll go. And maybe they could even *gasp* translate that Iwata Asks interview (of which every other one has been translated, by the way) while they're at it! I'd certainly like to read it without having to rely on the crappy Google translator. |

I completely agree with you, SSS-BLAM, and I don't even like Metroid that much. |

I hear ya. NOA will continue to do nothing, because apparently they are making money regardless of what they do. I don't know if they outsource their PR or what, but it has always been horrible. Play it Loud anyone?
There is no excuse for the metroid site error. Someone should lose their job for that. |
