How do you keep an image you use as an avatar in its original scale if it's not square-shaped?

Do you mean transparent when it is not box shaped? The avatar will look like that it doesn’t have the box shape, but it will always be a box. It’s just that it looks like that because it is transparency. Save your picture as “transparent” or go to any page with an avatar on it, and use the color of the grey area, which can be found everywhere here. Fill the outside of the image with this color and save it.
