... And if this thing happens to be drawn in anything resembling manga/anime style, you get MORE favourites and pageviews.
... And if this thing happens to appeal to the manga/anime crowd (say... Caramelldansen or Caipirinha), you're pretty much on your way to popularity.
Remember that Caramelldansen I made? Well, it's my most popular Deviation on my new account, and now there's someone writing a fanfiction about my characters. .-.
In short, draw a fad that the otaku love, no matter how old, and put it up on dA if you want pageviews and crap. |

Yeah, it's annoying that better pieces get ignored for the same old crap over and over again.
