How? Simple. Yoshi picked who 50% of people say is lowest tier, (yoshi) and faced a level 9 Ike, three stock. Only item was Beam swords, on low.
YOSHI KICKED HIS ASS WITHOUT DYING ONCE.
So, yeah, Tiers are for queers.
Fear the yoshi! >:3
Oh, and I probably would have died once if it weren't for the beam swords, but that's not the point.

Actually, Ike's a pretty low-tier character, due to slow attacks.
Tiers are only purposeful for tournaments where both competitors are at the top of their respective characters' skill level (around taking 10% or less damage from a Level 9 in one stock with no items, destroying everyone they face with said character). Said tiers have little to no effect on friendly play. So this accomplishment doesn't really matter. |

Yea, this really means nothing--Sorry.
But I'm not going to say Yosh' is a low-tier character, mostly because tiers r 4 queers.
Actually I hardly feel like justifying anything where tiers are the issue I think they're so cragging stupid. |

Good for you. I used Pkachu to beat the crap out of a level 9 Marth. Tiers are stupid pieces of shit thought up by SSB fanatics to glorify their favorite charectors. |

Tiers are for queers according to Dr. Wright (in Smash Kingdom).
Kirby's a low tier and I kick ass with him! Tiers are people's opinions. Even if characters have downfalls, some players know how to work around them.

Oh... Does it help that yoshi beat a Pit lv 9, no beam swords, losing two lives, and Lucas with beam swords, 2 deaths? I would use beams on pit, but THE DAMN ANGEL RING REFLECT! Yoshi feels n00bish. 3: |

Yoshi agrees Nate, but you misunderstand yoshi's deffiniton of tier.
Tier characters are the characters with good acceleration on Mario kart games. They seam better at first, but when you're really skilled, the fast ones are the real winners.
Yoshi's eternal point is to prove tiers false in this game.
Oh, and just because you don't like tires, doesn't mean we should lock it. |

DEFINITION OF TIERS: THE LIKELIHOOD OF A CHARACTER WINNING A TOURNAMENT.
That's it.
All characters are good against certain other characters. tiers cannot be used to determine the outcome of anyone match. A character places higher up on the tier list if few characters are very good for use against them.
This means that is say, Ike destroys Bowser in battles, but loses horribly to everyone else, then this would mean that Ike is good for beating bowser, but bowser is still higher up on the tier list. Unless bowser loses horribly against everyone. in which case he and Ike would both be at the bottom.
And that is how tiers work. And because of the way they work, they will form.
But they have not. don't even bother with this. there are no tiers for brawl yet and won't be for at least another year or so. Disproving the list is impossible. there is no list yet. |

Well from what I've heard from the realm of the MLG Metaknight and Snake are the "Top-Tier" right now.
Metaknight makes no sense to me, but I never use him. Snake makes a buttload of sense because he creates items in itemless environments (MLG tournaments) and has good range and damage.
I play with items but I've editted down the item list based on balance and fairness. Hammers, Dragoon, Maxim Tomatoes, Heart Containers and Smash Balls are all off.
I used to be a fan of Smash Balls until friends of mine started using Star Fox characters. Landmasters are so amazingly unfair in every way shape and form that I've decided that Smash Balls just aren't nearly balanced enough.
And when items are added into the mix the tier list gets really topsy-turvy. One of the stats that is massively ignored by tourny-tards is Item Use, Throw Strength and Throw Speed. This does vary between characters and creates more discrepancies in the balance between characters. If anything I think it adds to the balance. |
