But it should only be enabled for users with 1000 coins or fewer. That way the super-rich people won't gain 1000 coins every day, but the poor people won't remain poor. D: |

With your way of richer users getting no interest, what some semi-rich users would do is Gold Bar abuse. Here's a scenario:
Member A has 1080 coins. They want to keep earning money, but they can't due to the limit. So they buy a Gold-Bar-24K (100 coins), so they have 980 coins and get interest for a bit, until they reach 1000. They then sell the Gold Bar for 100 and have 1100 coins.
Users wouldn't have to be that close to 1000 to abuse this.
They could have 1580 coins. They buy 6 Gold-Bar-24Ks. They then have 980 coins, get interest for a bit until they have 1000, then sell the Gold Bars and they have 1600.
I don't think it should be completely disabled for richer users, just "capped". So, even if you had 50 billion coins you'd still get the same interest rate as somebody with 1000. That way, rich users aren't abusing Gold Bars and such, and aren't gaining ridiculous amounts each week/other day/whatevar. |

I like and support this idea for if interest was added I along with other people who use coins too quickly leaving themselves without coins for awhile, would have a better chance in the economy. |

Pokémoneinstein wrote: | You're just saying this because you're the second richest user here. | So? Rich people still matter. Plus, Gold-Bar abusers with like 2000 coins shouldn't get interest while honest people with about 1800 don't. =/ And then there's the fact that hardly anybody has more than 1000 coins, only about 1/20th of Digibutter does. You'd just be targeting them and saying they can't continue to earn coins and that everybody else gets to earn coins until they reach their level. 1000 coins should be hard to get, if you make it easy for everybody to get there and then say they basically can't keep going, it ruins the entire point of having 1000 coins. It wouldn't be an accomplishment, it'd be a punishment.
Again, cap it for higher coin amounts, don't completely destroy it for richer users. A 10000-coin person should get the same amount of interest as a 1000-coin person, not less. |

but Ulti, the thing is, it's unfair to the poor people if rich people keep making coins just as fast. If you were poor, you'd be seeing this from a different angle. |

I've been here when interest had no limit, while having not that impressive an amount of coins, and I never had a problem with richer users making twice to five times as much as me from interest. There was hardly any problem with the old interest system, the only reason that was disabled was because Pure-??? was making over 90 coins every other day. I understand preventing rich users from getting ridiculous amounts from interest, (but don't really agree with it), but not giving them any interest at all? Giving benefits to Gold Bar abuse? Making 1000 coins not a goal, but a punishment? I HIGHLY disagree with that, and I'd still disagree with it if I didn't have a single coin. |

What if for bank accounts, it goes backwards? You start with an average interest, but as you get more coins, the interest gets less, that way poor users can get some money while rich users keep their status rather than getting richer? |

A person with 0-10 coins should NOT get 10 coins every other day from interest. That's just messed up.
Honestly, ideas for "poor" users to get richer are overrated. There's a reason they're poor: either they bought a bunch of items or they're new. If somebody has 1000 coins and spends them all on killing items and slaughters everyone but goes down to 0, with your guys' ideas they'd get back to their initial amount faster. But if someone goes from 2000 to 1000, there is no way for them to get back, they have to post 1000 times outside the OT's. The former 2000 deserves just as much as the former 1000, if not more.
As for new users, they tend to be excited and post a lot when new and then lower activity levels. Really, all they need to do is POST MOAR. It's pretty easy to get 90 posts outside the OTs when you're new, everything is NEW ND EXCITEENGZ.
It's nice to have some sort of newbie item gifts or something, but if people are poor because they spend money, it's their fault and there should be no relief programs for that sort of thing. And all this bias against the rich is completely uneccessary. =/
If you're so desperate to help the poor how about THIS for interest:
Automatically disabled if you have a Gold Bar in your inventory. Interest starts automatically after you hit 50 coins or below, is canceled if you go above. If you stay at 50 coins or below for a week you get a coin.
That way, ACTUAL poor people get some relief (but very little) while Gold Bar abusers don't. 1000 coins isn't poor. It's freaking rich. 100 isn't exactly poor either, you can buy almost anything you want anywhere with it. |

Ok, Ulti. You make sense, but it's not good sense. What's so bad about posting outside OT? You can also play games, win tournaments, plenty of other things. |
