Supported. If you don't like OT, then ignore it. If you don't like RPOT, then ignore it. It's fine if you don't like one of those boards, but I'm tired of people whining about them over and over. In my opinion, digibutter would be a much better place if people would just shut up about OT and RPOT already. Francis has already said he doesn't intend to get rid of either, so what is whining going to do about it? Nothing, except for get other people pissed off.
Personally, I feel the same way about both boards. Unfortunately; most people are unable to look at both sides of the situation. They think that they're right, and other people are wrong. They aren't "allowed" to get along, because one board sucks and the other one is epic. So, they flame their differences, rather than realizing that people all have different opinions, and no one's opinions are right or wrong. Is it SO hard to just accept the differences between each board, rather than flaming each other and making things worse?

That's true...but every topic I've seen about RPOT vs OT has been locked. It always resorts to flaming, because people just seem incapable of respecting other's opinions and carrying out a civil conversation. It always ends up as "___ is full of fail and ___ is epic win" or whatever, and constant un-constructive insults. If you're going to insult something, at least make an attempt to suggest how said bad things can be prevented.
I'm fine with people disagreeing, in fact, I like reading about other people's conflicting opinions...but hearing people complain about the same things over and over again gets on my nerves, regardless if I agree with it or not. |

Anyway, yeah we can disagree with whatever we want. I disagree with Plastic being a mod. I disagree with "TEH R WORD" being censored. I disagree with your constant name changes, etc. We can agree or disagree with whatever we want, as long as it doesn't get too flamey.
"I hate RPOT because so many people are obsessed with it and the RPing there is terrible. It should seriously be removed, the Role-Playing board is good enough." is fine, "I hate OT, it has way too much spam and flaming and really has no point or reason to exist." is fine. So are the following rebuttals: "There aren't that many people obsessed with RPOT, more are obsessed with OT. And just because some, okay most, of the RPing is "bad" is no reason to delete it. It has a nice, casual feel, unlike Role-Playing where you feel bad for starting a thread that isn't detailed". "Off-Topic isn't filled with spam or flame. If you see flame, report it, don't whine about it and complain about the forum where it takes place. As for spam, it's not "filled" with spam. I only see about 3 in 50 topics that can be considered spam IMO. A lot of the time it's something a lot of people find funny, or actually does have a point. You just have to think about it, is something really "strikeworthy"? You might find that what you thought is spam really isn't at all.". Just keep it civilized, no need to strike everybody who calls OT "spammy" or RPOT "lame". |
