And now, for a very biased review. _____________________________
Controls: 10/10
While many games for the Gamecube are plain out hard to get a hang of, Billy Hatcher is quite easy to get used too, and simple.
Gameplay: 7/10
The game is Glover for the new generation, with the mechanic of rolling eggs to crush your foes or growing and hatching them. It goes very smoothly, and it's quite addicting. The only flaw is that the titular character is useless without an egg, being only able to jump, climb up ledges, and run. It is also annoying that if you manage to do a jump attack and only the egg makes it, leaving you to fall of an edge and go back to find a new egg.
Graphics: 8/10
This game has smoother graphics then many games that would be released after it, such as Sonic Heroes.
Audio: 7/10
This game has nothing short of an addicting soundtrack. The main theme is just plain wonderful.
Replayability: 7/10
The game has plenty of stuff to unlock, with thousands of emblems to collect, characters to unlock, eggs, chick coins, and minigames to unlock, but once you get all that, you'll probably be done with the single player mode.
Multiplayer: 9.5/10 The multiplayer mode rivals not only all the Gamecube games, but games on other consoles as well, while the stage layouts are quite bland, it's just a blast.
Overall: 8/10
This game's not only one of the best games SEGA has made in years, but one of the best games in years. This is a must-buy. |
