I think it's a reasonable decision. The only real reason I can imagine drinking would be higher than when you're allowed to vote is that they've hoped you've matured going from 18 to 21 and can drink responsibly. |

I'm not a fan of it either. My mother drank when I was little, so I myself am never going to touch the stuff. |

If it gives the psychological shock most of the college monkeys need to set them straight and convince them that college isn't a party, then fine. Otherwise, I don't really care. Hopefully they won't move on to drugs as "teh next kewl illegal tingy". |

I think that it is a good idea. When kids know that they aren't allowed to do it, then they will. If they can, then they won't as much. People drink to be cool and get a buzz now, but if your 18 and it's allowed, then it will seem more boring, and drinking will be more responsible. When kids get their hands on beer they drink as much as they can, if it were legal they would be more likely to only have a little. |

I've always thought that the drinking age in the US was a little farfetched. 21? Just causes kids to drink more as they try to rebel.
Then again, I live in Canada, where in most areas, the drinking age is 19... |

I guess it really doesn't make a difference. Kids are drinking even before they're 18 already, anyway... |

If you're old enough to go off to war and die for your country, you're old enough to drink. If you're old enough to be legally considered an adult, you're old enough to drink. Why not have the right to a cold one every now and then, when people of your age have the right to purchase cigs? |

21 should be for 100% stuff. For the non-100% stuff like wine and beer, it should be like 18 or 19. But then again, it really matters on weight. Bigger people usually can handle more than smaller people, however, age still plays a big role here since the growing process is involved. Basically, I'd be happy once I can drink wine. :shitty: |

Actually, they raised smoking to 19. My sister just turned 18 and tried to buy a pack, she was rejected. However, she could buy a lottery ticket.
This would also help casinos because although the gambling age is 18, they can't let anyone under 21 in because everyone loves some Jack and Coke with Blackjack. |

Yeah, I think it's 18 in Manitoba and Quebec, too. |

I was under the impression that already happened. |
