Quote: | NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP)—Nine-year-old Jericho Scott is a good baseball player— too good, it turns out.
The right-hander has a fastball that tops out at about 40 mph. He throws so hard that the Youth Baseball League of New Haven told his coach that the boy could not pitch any more. When Jericho took the mound anyway last week, the opposing team forfeited the game, packed its gear and left, his coach said.
Officials for the three-year-old league, which has eight teams and about 100 players, said they will disband Jericho’s team, redistributing its players among other squads, and offered to refund $50 sign-up fees to anyone who asks for it. They say Jericho’s coach, Wilfred Vidro, has resigned....
“You don’t have to be learned in the law to know in your heart that it’s wrong,” he said. “Now you have to be punished because you excel at something?” |
Kinda cruel...heh. The world stinks. I hope the team loses in shame. |

Geez, let the kid play. What if he goes to like, MLB? Ar they gonna ban him from that cuz he's too good?
I say the little kids should suck it up and try to hit the *crag* ball. |

Let him play.
But don't pressurize the poor terrified kids. The pressure pushed on them by their parents is enough! |

That's exactly what I was thinking. Seriously, when someone's really good at something and other people just can't beat that person, they get their panties in a bunch. It's really annoying. |

I heard that the only reason baseball is no longer an Olympic sport is because Japan is too good at it. Seriously, they ben an entire sport from the Olympics just because ONE country is unbeatable, instead of just benning that coutry from that sport? What a piece of bullcrap. |

As fast as Mario's Fireball pitch!? Impossible! XD
That's kinda like my little bro.'s league he made up. My older bro. is "too good" and they get in a huge argument. I facepalm and hope that they see me do it.
Maybe the kids should get better. Gees. |

So basically they screwed over the kid's future as a proffesional baseball player.
If he can't practice, he can't get good.
If you really think about it, it's like banning someone from school cuz they're too good.
The answer is you skip a grade, not 'we gunna screw over ur future, cuz you make uz sad'
He could join a ten year old league, and if he destroys them, he can join an elleven year old league, and so on.
BUT FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS VISIBLE IN THE LIGHT, DON'T BAN HIM FROM WHAT WILL EVIDENTALLY BE HIS MILLION DOLLAR MAKIN' FUTURE! |

I hate it when people do that to people who are actually talented...."Oooh but all the other kids won't have a chance", is what they say, but, I don't really think it's fair to throw out someone who can actually be able to use their talent to get a job just to give a bunch of other kids who probably will move on to something else a chance. If you really have to take the kid out, move him up to a higher level. |
