This question has annoyed me for awhile now, ent.
Why did Nintendo NEED to make a DS lite, ent? I mean: the DS worked just fine, where buttons were placed were just fine, weight on the DS was light enough it was irrelivant, AND the backlight was fine (though in direct sunlight you cannot play), ent.
On the DS lite: there is a stronger backlight (unneeded), a wierd power switch ( In a stupid place so that you might accedently turn the DS lite off), and products like screen protectors are ONLY for the DS lite (what about those with a regular DS?!?!?), ent.
What are your opinions, ent?

First off, I have no idea what "ent" means.

But more on topic, the Lite is less durable, but more compact and easier to travel with. Nintendo wanted a portable system, so they made it more portable.

And seriously, screen protectors aren't necessary. I had my DS for 2 years before I got the Lite, and there wasn't a single scratch on the screen, and I've had my Lite for 2 more years, and still no scratches. Wow, the DS has only been out 4 years?

To be honest, the power switch on the Lite has never been a problem to me, and I've carried it around on multiple occasions.

Anyway, the Lite's appearance appeals to the more modern take of today's society. It's glossy and shiny, and that's what people want.

And if you can't find anything for a DS Phat, upgrade if you must, otherwise, deal with it.
