A third-person, over the shoulder style horror-survival shooter, Dead Space puts you in the shoes of Isaac Clarke, a maintenance man for the common spacecraft. The USG Ishimura has blacked out completely, assuming it's a communications problem, Isaac is sent in to investigate and fix the problem. When you walk inside the ship, you soon discover that the inhabitants have been overrun with an alien infestation. Manging to send out one last transmission of distress, your communications are blocked completely, and you are forced to keep yourself alive. Most of the guns used are actual mining/working tools that Isaac would have to use to perform his job.
A comic series has been released, and it gives a side-story I believe to the Dead Space storyline. They were graphic novels and then made into video comics and I haven't had time to watch them yet, but I will soon. Ok it's more of a backlog for the game, to give you more info on what is going on, with some side-story.
This makes the 3rd survival horror game coming out, I think...
