Just think about it: The first time you go to the bank, the clerk stamps Link with his "special ink" to remember who he is. But what if... the stamp also keeps track of his account deposits, as the clerk updates it? It is proved, after all, the stamp transcends time like Link does.

Instead of theorizing that the clerk transcends time, I suggest that the Stamp has the balance of Link's account written on it, meaning that, if Link goes to the Clerk after resetting the time, the Clerk is too careless and trusts the stamp before all else (he doesn't seem to trust his memory), which allows Link to withdraw money he technically has yet to deposit (even if he did deposit it before going back in time).

The result, of course, being fraud even Link is unaware of.

Yeah, I always figured the same thing, or that the whole banking system in MM was just traveling through time and one of those "Acceptable Breaks From Reality" things. I mean, how ridiculous would it be if you had to refill your wallet every single time you restarted the clock?
