Which was your favorite Paper Mario in the series? I liked the first one the best, after playing through it so far. The original for N64 had something the sequels lacked. More interactivity outside of battle, better map, more partners, and fun dungeons/whatever that were better than the sequel. Of course, the battle system in TTYD was better, but everything else lacked in TTYD... Paper Mario original was the best. Character development was great in both games, but I found it annoying that every single female in TTYD had a freaking crush on Mario. Kinda old IMO... Super Paper Mario was great, but I liked the RPG part of Paper Mario more...
This IS a SPM site...but yeah |

Paper Mario was the original, and the basis for the series. Like it. TTYD added to an already great game, improving it greatly. SPM threw all that out and came up with a whole new system. Good game, but not great in comparison to its predecessors. TTYD is my favorite because of its improvements to the original. |

Well, I haven't played the original Paper Mario yet, although I'm planning to. Out of the other two, I prefer TTYD, possibly 'cause of the superior, IMO, battle system and music. Doopliss battle theme > all. |

TTYD is the best! It has a great storyline and challanging battles and puzzles. Those are the 2 things I value in a game. SPM was a disgrace. Other than the engaging storyline, they pretty much made it for the sole purpose of making another Wii game. And, let's face it, Nintendo's running out of epic. D8 |

Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door come close for me, but I'd have to say that between the two, TTYD is my favorite. I loved the story, characters, battle system, things to do... I had loads of fun with it. But my fondest memories will always be with my first playthrough of Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64. |

Well, I like Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. I love EVERYTHING about that game. Just wish that it was not so hard though....but what's the fun in that? Heh. Heh. |

My favorite would definatly be TTYD, hands down. I like how they gave more unique character development, along with a heck of a lot of other things. Super Paper Mario was awesome, but I like TTYD the best. Just wished they'd make another like it, though.... |

TTYD. Sure, I liked SPM's storyline more, but they screwed up when they quit using the RPG turn-based battles. |

(It makes me think about all the times I wished my other games were easier...) |

I pretty much agree with Lord Bob. Except I started on TTYD and when I got SPM, I missed stage battles, beat it once, got bored, went back to TTYD, have started three new TTYD files over the past year or so, and have never played SPM since. It was a wonderful game with great story and lots of humor, but TTYD just had a little more when it came to that. and it had stage battles. loved those, but they were annoying sometimes. |

Paper Mario is one of my favourite games ever, but nostalgia aside, Paper Mario 2 is the better game. |

Must I choose? :<
I cannot pick between them, as they are all very enjoyable and I love the characters and plots shown in them. |

Each one had something unique to it that I LOVED to pieces, so it's very hard to choose, imo.
The original Paper Mario had plenty of awesome references that I absolutely loved... that and it had Lakilester (I forgot his partner name). Seriously, a Lakitu partner. THAT is awesome.
PM: TTYD ... C'mon. Hands down, the Glitzpit. FREAKIN' GLITZPIT. I also liked the train ride episode but... GAAAH, GLITZPIT! I RAAAWWWWWKED THAT PLAAAACE! *convulsions*
And in Super Paper Mario, I personally loved how it went back to the roots, sorta. I loved the hop and bop platformer action of Mario's past, so that was a good refresher.
EDIT: Forgot to add.. I also liked Paper Mario for the Shy Guy's Toybox level. BEST. LEVEL. EVER.

SMRPG! *shot*
Paper Mario: It was very good for an N64 game. The soundtrack is awesome and the story is cool. There are also many things referencing from SMRPG that I found out.
PM:TTYD: This game was really fun! It has it's up and it's downs, but it's still awesome! The story was epic, it had Lord Crump, awesome partners (except for Flurrie) and hard enemies to keep you going. This an PM come really close.
SPM: I was disappointed a little when there was no RPG turn based battles anymore. But I bared with it.The RPG battle with Underchomp was EVEN MORE disappointing.
SSBB:......Oh yeah. D: Either PM or PM2. I don't know yet. |

...paper mario... ...definitely... ....I just think of it as the best because it had the best prologue hands down in and paper mario in my opinion... ...also it was the hardest one for me not like i died more than like 2 times in the entire series :/... ...and just the layout I think was much better... ...the town, and dungeons... ~White Shy Guy |
