For the following reasons.
1. Hardcore poke'nerdz spend hours upon hours optimizing their little munster's stats, but when it comes down to it, the type advantages completely nullify all of it.
2. The series itself has had so significant changes since Gold & Silver unless you count online, and I don't because there are much better freeware games that have been letting you tweak munsters to your hearts desire and battle them online for years now. I know, everytime I say this someone says "BUT MY RHYDON HAS A 4.5 POINT DEFENSE CHANGE SO NOW HE CAN SURVIVE A CRITICAL HIT" or some shit like that and then I tell them to kill themselves. Well you know what, go kill yourself. Hell, even a good percentage of the WoW kids aren't that *crag* obsessed with their shit, and it gets monthly changes. Then again I guess it's kind of the same in that respect. All of you are *crag* creepy, and you have all been buying the same game for several years now.
3. The story is the *crag* same, in every *crag* game. Hell, the games are the same in terms of your main objectives. Go to the eight gym, win, beat the Elite Four or whatever the *crag* they call them now, get some legendaries, and then go play something else unless you are a *crag* addict. BUT WAIT SIR! IN GOLD & SILVER YOU GET TO DO THAT TWICE! Wow! It's like two boring ass games in one! Though I suppose at the time, it was nice they included the first game in. After all we all know Red & blue were the only great Pokemon games.
4.The original voice actors for Team Rocket are now doing some shitty show called Dinosaur King on 4Kids. WHAT THE HELL! THEY DESERVE BETTER
5. The glitches are what made Red & Blue legendary. It was like a sort of metagame, one of the first times a culture was built around a portable game. But thanks to the phat pay checks GAME FREAK has been getting their this is no longer the case. Hell, at least in Gold & Silver you could clone shit. |

Then people need to stop making fifty *crag* topics about about a single game in the gaming forum.
I was forced into this. |

Shoddy Battle is better than the actual game because you don't need to ggggrrrrriiiiiinnnnnddddd for hours on end to make a decent competitive team. |

*applauds*
I fell off the Pokemon bandwagon when Gold/Silver came out. The Day/Night cycle dependent on days of the week really turned me off. Red/Blue/Yellow were the only ones I seriously played, and now I barely touch them anymore.
I never watch the shows/movies anymore, either; the only thing that's caught my interest is (was?) that Mystery Dungeon show adaptation. Dunno why, but it just does. |

I really don't care about the story. I've always hated pokemon but I decided to try out Pokemon Diamond. Pretty fun. Though mah epic pokemans don't mean anything to me no more. |

FAILURE AT TRUTH, I SAY!
your 1. Type advantages do nullify defensive stats to some degree, but not completely. if that were the case, then a super effective hit from a move with a base power of 5 (weaker than the weakest move) could KO the most defensive pokemon in one hit. Now do you see how nonsensical your above statement was?
your 3. Yes, you are sort of right there. The story is pretty much the same. but WHAT THE HELL does " *crag* " mean? you used it like five times in one sentence!
And sorry if I ticked you off with the pokemon topics. Geno said there hasn't been a pokemon topic in forever.
And who watches the show? I for one DON'T. |

Wow. I can tell you are new.
First off, your are a *crag* newb so I'm not going to answer 3.
Also, WOW! STRONGER MOVES HAVE A STRONGER ATTACK POWER
WHAT A *crag* REVELATION
I GUESS IF I'M PLAYING FINAL FANTASY AND I USE FIRE INSTEAD OF FIRAGA I'M GOING TO DO THE SAME AMOUNT OF DAMAGE BECAUSE POKEMON IS SO MUCH MORE COMPLICATED AND NOT A BASIC REHASH OF EVERY RPG EVER MADE WITH A STUPID COLLECT 'EM ALL SKIN SLAPPED ON TO ATTRACT PEOPLE WHO DON'T OWN A PS2 AND CAN'T PLAY GOOD RPGS |

I... actually agree. The series really started going downhill after Gold and Silver. It's the same rehashed game each time, except a new map and too many Pokemon for any remotely sane person to catch. I really hope that Nintendo doesn't release anymore, because I actually think that the series needs to die now. Especially the shitty anime. |

Spiritomb's right on one account, though. Match disadvantages do not comletely nullify your power. I've been at a disadvantage a lot of times in battle, and I still came out victorious.
But, I do agree, the story usually is the same. It's actually the same with a lot of "series" games. But, what can you really do other than battle in a Pokemon game? There isn't much room for a storyline. They just put the gym leaders in there to make it so you don't just go around battling random trainers. It'd never sell like that.
The only thing I despise about the "new" Pokemon is the anime series after they got rid of Misty. They've really been dumbing it down since then.

Pokemon is not interesting me anymore. There's no epic characters, no fist clenching boss-fights, and it's not even fun to collect Pokemon or get secrets. |

I could write a better Pokemon story in five minutes than all of GAME FREAK could write in a year. |
